It was a great advertising scheme! They openly advertised at the beginning of the campaign that due to economic hardships that Makers Mark was too expensive and so they would actually have to water it down from now on.(decreasing the quality of a product in a quality driven industry.) ..te he he.

They actually had news anchors on CNN and the msn relaying the audacious statement made by the company. Stirring up as it were, self propelled controversy.

They finished their advertising campaign by declaring that due to negative public response to them watering down a product supposedly known for its fine quality(thus bolstering the legend,) that they have decided not to water it down but to keep the same great quality!

..just gonna raise the price slightly. ..haha. just as you insist.. lol.
