Re: UPDATED: China releases TWO NEW pics of the Moon and claims it's the "last time".
NO stars are seen in the sky whatsoever
 Quoting: Ford Prefect

someone please explain this.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 50819642

The official explanation to the lack of stars in space images is "daylight exposure of the camera", but the problem is that when you watch a timelapse video made from the ISS, you see plenty of stars even when the station is flying in the orbital daytime.

 Quoting: Ford Prefect

didn't go over the polar regions, we might have seen the main entrance points to the inner earth, like where i believe the aurora borealis's come from

i can use mirror like surfaces to cast reflections on anything, soil or not. not sure what your point is?
 Quoting: green_girl

My point is:

1. Where the source of the light that's causing that reflection coming from below the panel?

2. The reflection is not moving accordingly to the irregular terrain.

3. Why there are not other parts reflecting as well?
 Quoting: Ford Prefect

the very ground itself is a light source. shuning up from below. and then reflecting back.
also in one pic it looks like the other panel is in shadow, so no light to reflect there.
 Quoting: green_girl

Nope, the ground may reflect light but it's not a source and there's no fucking way of a dark soil reflecting the sunlight onto the bottom side of solar panel and then bounce it back to the ground.

Plus 90% of the rover's surface is exposed to the sunlight, therefore should be way more than just a small reflection in the ground.
 Quoting: Ford Prefect

yes,you know what i meant. you asked for the source of the light, and i gave one. aside from the sun the light that is being reflected form the underside of the panels would be the ground.

it's not snapshots of a fucking machine we want, it is LIVE HD video of what's infront, to the sides and rear we need to see, not shots of the paddle picking up soil samples to be analysed nobody gives a damn about that we want to see the moon in full HD and LIVE
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 10277451

You should write a letter to the Chinese parliament demanding HD videos in the next moon mission.

Since when metallic parts reflect in soil like that??

No I don't know what you mean because the ground is not a source of light, it only reflects it, and again, EVEN if the ground is reflecting sunlight onto the bottom side of the panel, it wouldn't bounce back, not to mention that there should be more reflections in the ground since the whole rover is wrapped in gold foil.

That single piece of reflection doesn't make any sense at all. FACT.

Youll find the reason they havent built an aircraft carrier is they are nowdays huge floating coffins
If a big war breaks out they will be sunk from space.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 51560747

Exactly, even the US admirals know the df-21 will put every carrier in range on the bottom in the first 5 minutes of a REAL war...wont that be great? 5 or 6 more fuckushimas bubbling away in the pacific...
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 37221882

The idea is to launch as many planes as possible before they get sunk. Too many submarines from many countries to be affective other than one launch. Then again, first off the carriers will probably be top brass.

I don't care what they claim. They did not land a rover on the moon. You realize when it comes to technology, it's far easier and affordable to use camera tricks, cgi, and actors to convince the world you've achieved something incredible than it is to achieve something incredible.

Because the moon is an alien space station with giant mining machines crawling on the surface, spaceships parked in craters, bases, towers and shit.

They can't allow this stuff being aired on national TV, so they have a studio-made landing for the show, while the real deal is being secretly monitored.

I didn't disagree with reflections, I just find odd the way that that particular reflection is moving in the irregular soil and the lack of OTHER reflections, since the rover is fully exposed to sun light.

I just don't get why you're so butthurt for the Chinese government, but if it makes you sleep better at night not talking about awkward reflections in the lunar surface (or in a lunar set in some Chinese studio), I'll leave you alone.

UPDATE:

IMAGE ( [link to p4.img.cctvpic.com] )

This is the alleged pic of the lander Chang'E 3 taken by the rover, and it looks a CGI job to me. The quality is way inferior to the pic of the rover, and it should be exactly the opposite, as long as the cameras of the rover are supposed to take hi-res images.

But what bothers me most is that EARTH is nowhere to be seen in the sky behind the lander, but the satellite dish of the rover is pointed in that direction.
