i can use mirror like surfaces to cast reflections on anything, soil or not. not sure what your point is?

Nope, the ground may reflect light but it's not a source and there's no fucking way of a dark soil reflecting the sunlight onto the bottom side of solar panel and then bounce it back to the ground. Plus 90% of the rover's surface is exposed to the sunlight, therefore should be way more than just a small reflection in the ground. yes,you know what i meant. you asked for the source of the light, and i gave one. aside from the sun the light that is being reflected form the underside of the panels would be the ground.
