And a wonderful tradition for the children, who helped decorate the tree. The Devil tries to convince everyone he doesn't exist. The state tries to convince everyone they cannot resist. Do not go quietly into the good night. Rage Rage against the dying light! |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 51392933 United States 12/15/2013 10:40 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Me! We used my roommates artificial tree, which was given to him by someone who didn't want it any more. So its recycled and we didn't have to cut down a real one. I made some new garlands for it, and bought a huge bag of used (glass) ornaments at the thrift store for four bucks. It looks completely awesome. We are not really a family. It's just us and my dog. But we sometimes feel like a family. I will be making pot roast in my crockpot, with mashers and gravy! And we will have a real fire in our fireplace, probably watch a good movie. We are not terribly religious, though we each grew up in a religion (Catholic, Episcopal). But we do believe in God because that's sometimes all we have. We are both over 50 and have had a terrible time getting work the last few years. We try our best to survive. We will be attending church this year for at least one Christmas service. I am determined to feel that good old fashioned Christmas spirit, no matter what. Merry Christmas to all! "God bless us, every one." |

Turtles Voice User ID: 15791612 United States 12/15/2013 10:56 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | No tree this year, the house is too small and the living room is my sewing room Plus, there is a kitten in the house. I do have a few lights on the front porch and on the mantle. And I'm making gifts. It didn't cross my mind, hahaha :-) I thought that you can pick a nice gift and leave it for a poor kid somewhere. Or make a Christmas tree as a gift for someone who's not so lucky to have one this year. Is much easier than your idea of picking a kid and bringing him or her to your house :-)) |
