Hm, sounds like an urban legend to me. Why didn't she run away and was "posing" for the image?!

Looks more like a lawn to me. Besides, cornstalks? There is a lot of stuff you can grow that does not leave any stuff above after being harvested. Asparagus, beets, potatoes etc.
