tbh I'm not too amazed, I'm a chef (write that down data miners) and while I don't dip my fingers into the actual fryer your hands do become seriously immune to heat after a while, I regularly pick up stuff that has literally just come up from the oil... still coated in it.

But the top level of the oil is not as hot as you might think anyway and I notice his fingertips are well coated in batter.

It's a nice gimmick but not anything really amazing tbh.
