Can't Believe I'm Asking This, But I have some Dental Questions
and couldn't find any good forums.

I was quoted the exact amount I would have to pay for services.

Its 10K with my insurance, and 23K w/out. That means my dental insurance will pay 42 % of the overall cost.

How can I get them to pay more?

Is there any way I can submit a claim under some loophole?

I have humana by the way.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Have you got a second opinion? Thats a pretty hefty dental bill, maybe another dentist could do it cheaper?

WoW, the DDS portion of your game was very disconcerting. It is no longer bothersome. I say this because your game is not bothersome, in that it's treachery, has been discovered by me, yes by an human.

The heck are you talking about?
Lay off of the medicine and allow the real to speak.

P.S. Useless Cookie, I have found many deduction expenses that qualify me as individual to get the premium tax break applied to my insurance.

You have to get it through the marketplace though.

23k - 10k = 13k

so they would pay 13/23 = 56.5% of the overall cost

there you go, they are now paying 12.5% more than before this thread!

You need Waterloo teeth!

"The night of 18 June 1815 was one to remember. After 23 years of war in Europe, Napoleon faced the combined might of England, Holland and Prussia at Waterloo. By 10 pm, the battle was over. The French were defeated and 50,000 men lay dead or wounded on the battlefield. The casualties were high but for one group of people that was reason to celebrate. They were the dentists who were about to benefit from the great tooth bonanza. In the early part of the 19th century, patients with plenty of money but very few teeth were prepared to pay enormous sums for a good set of dentures. The best were made with real human teeth at the front. Most of the time demand for second-hand incisors far outstripped supply, but wars helped make up the shortfall. The windfall from Waterloo provided enough to ship supplies all round Europe and even across the Atlantic."

You never see a church with free wifi. I guess because no church wants to compete with an invisible power that actually works.

Most of the plans pay a maximum per year. If you can spread the work out do that. You could get a second plan but I'm not sure how that works.

It really is stupid that dental insurance is still separate from medicine since bad teeth can seriously affect your health.

Yes, as through this world I've wandered
I've seen lots of funny men;
Some will rob you with a six-gun,
And some with a fountain pen.

And as through your life you travel,
Yes, as through your life you roam,
You won't never see an outlaw
Drive a family from their home.

Most insurance puts a cap PER TOOTH.
So the max is reached even if multi years for the work. I Had two root canals per tooth to try and save two and it worked with intermittent pain for five years. Tomorrow those suckers are coming out. Dental insurance does NOT pay for implants. But pays for extractions and a partial. I used to say eeeww. But my overall health is affected by the underlying infection in my jaw and my white count is up. Read up on ROOT CANALS. Naturopathic medicine is against them. Find a Naturopathic dentist. Seriously. They will remove any metals in your mouth safely and replace with a non toxic acrylic. There is a big medical travel incentive going on and some countries are getting famous for it. Panama and other places with mostly expat American doctors. That will increase with o care. My advice is get whatever is affecting your overall health done. Shop hard for the rest. Dentists will suffer under o care and become more flexible.

At those prices you can afford to fly somewhere to find a cheaper dentist. And probably stay in a 5 star hotel while you're there.

My private dentist in the UK charges £60 for 15 minutes work. She can do two white fillings in that time. They barely need to drill any more!

What is wrong with your teeth, exactly how much work do you need for $23,000?

Get a second opinion! Spend a little time finding an honest dentist!

This is so easy.

Find out who the dentist is seeing on the side, get pics and vids and then blackmail him.

Ok, lol, OP doesn't want to tell us what treatment he/she needs.

02cents. (I miss the cents sign ALOT):

I knew an independent lab dental tech. He told me he dated a dentist who charged 3x the worth amount for care, and that he'd seen in our town pop 100,000 snot town dentists routinely charging 5x the worth amt for treatments.

Yeah, shop around.

Then again, there is a dentist from Japan that is so skillful she deserves to charge more.
Only one I've ever met that I've wished to have a course of treatment with and just couldn't afford it :(

Dude, that is insanely overpriced.

Here's what you do.

Buy a flight to Thailand, get it done there at one fifth the price (and yes, you can get world class clinics) and have a holiday at the same time in a 5-star resort, and still save several grand.
