Baggage handlers caught on camera stealing valuables from checked luggage (video) Look! It's the one star bandit! Hahahaha Anyway, stealing seems to be the trend - at least I've noticed esp. in the last year. The little niece of mine wiped me out of a few things I cherished: a locket with beloved's pic inside; a gold cross my brother left me when he passed and some other items special to me. Oh well, I forgave her, but she won't darken my doorway for a long, long time. Then there's all the stuff that mom is missing from a rehab she was in; and a hospital she was in recently. Stuff totaling approx. $3,500. Nice. Working with risk management on that. I guess it's a trend or something. I am not perfect, but dang, my parents taught me right from wrong as a kid - you know the basics. What's up with all the stealing? Greater is He who is in me than he who is in the world. Whatever feels good to your soul, do that. |

Baggage handlers caught on camera stealing valuables from checked luggage (video) Taking a trip for the holidays? Travelers are being warned today not to put valuable items in their luggage after newly-released surveillance tapes show baggage handlers stealing from suitcases. Quoting: Ms. Superduper The footage was released by Port Authority in New York after Israel's El Al Airlines last summer received complaints from passengers that belongings were disappearing from luggage. Secret cameras were installed in planes only to discover that staff were methodically rifling through bags and removing watches, cash, iPhones and jewellery. I don't know how true that is, but I do know baggage handlers do it quite often... Anyone, in this day and age who puts valuables in their luggage needs their heads examined... |

Baggage handlers caught on camera stealing valuables from checked luggage (video) One time we went to a store and when we got home, I found a few pieces of bulk candy that my daughter "hid" in her clothing. Her punishment was throwing out the candy and not being allowed to go with me to a store for a very long time. A friend asked me why I did not make her go back to the store and "confess". The reason is because I have heard too many accounts of managers dismissing "thefts" like that -- especially from a little child -- by saying something like, "That's okay, honey. Just don't do it again," followed by a pat on the head. My parents always taught me that anyone who would steal a quarter would also steal something much more valuable, and I believe that. |
