UPDATED TODAY--List of Sheriffs and Police Chiefs Saying ‘NO’ to Obama Gun Control

This stayed superpinned for a good while. I had a weird visit today. I live somewhat rural near a very small town (18,000) and a DPS officer shows up and wants to look in my back yard. We also live right by a bus stop for a school, he says a student stole a teachers cell phone and he wants to look if they threw it in my back yard. We have a 6 foot wood fence all the way around......I tell him that's very unlikely because the dogs would have alerted us. He insisted and I let him, I have nothing to hide. He looked the entire backyard which is about 1/4 acre, looked behind the trees, bushes. Moved a few things (how would it get UNDER SOMETHNG??). Since when did DPS look for cell phones????? If it were really a local incident over a cell phone, we'd have had a sheriff not DPS. Anyway, I'm a lot spooked now.

Well since my mother has lived here for 21 years and I've been here for 9 and we've never had ANY law enforcement out here, I can't help but think it has something to do with this thread? What?
