WTF the astronauts are gonna use snorkels inside their suits during the EVA???

[link to u50i.img-up.net]

Is NASA "predicting" more astronauts drowning inside their helmets AGAIN, just like Luca Parmittano????

Why NASA is talking about "draining water from the EVA suits" over and over???

Why they are improvising snorkels inside the suits??

wtf

In the article you supplied they said there will be no more space walks until the issue is resolved.

This tells me two things:

1. The issue has not been resolved with the water in the suit and they are improvising to make this space walk happen.

2. This pump issue is much worse than they are letting on and is critical it comes back online.

Should be an interesting weekend. Thanks for the tip about Luca as it puts more perspective on it.

Good info people will miss with your title now that the press conference is over. I suggest a title change to give thread more legs.

Which also means that there is a high likelihood for the Astronauts to come back home and which leads you to the discussions we are having in the thread below. All these are excuses for the Astronauts to return home because of inbound objects from ISON and friends.

Thread: International Space Station Astronauts Building Space Suit For Space Walk. Has Leak 12/18/2013

Indeed. All for show. These guys are coming home folks. Keep on watching the Soap[ace] Opera.

Asteroids/Comets/Meteors are inbound. Even Karl Battams admits that there will be small shooting stars as a result of ISON. Since NASA didn't grind these dusts from ISON into very fine material themselves, I want to presume that the Astronauts in the ISS won't be left up there to face the potential risk of an impact from one of the "FINE DUSTS" from ISON that just happens not to have been ground properly.

Would NASA keep astronauts up there knowing that asteroids/meteors/comets etc. are inbound?

Also, if NASA had to bring the astronauts home under the guise of a fault on ISS or any other excuse they can dream up, that means that they aren't going to tell the world that something is coming from space.

So, how does NASA and the PTB save face and hide all the inbound asteroids/meteors/comets? Or more appropriately, what resembles asteroids/meteors/comets with trails? Did you say missiles and rockets?

Now you know why propaganda of a war with China, NK etc are on the rise!

Shit is going down up there.

When NASA beats a dead horse, they got somewhere they have to go, quickly.

Me personally, I have seen WAY more fireballs/shooting stars recently. Many are green.

I believe the ISS was hit with debris. And the suits might not be able to stay sealed with nano sized particles speeding by at incredible speeds.

Yeah, I think something is seriously wrong up there. If the ISS comes crashing down and NK fires a nuke........oh shit!

I don't blame them for being paranoid about the helmet leak issue, that is some scary shit, dude could have died.

Bringing a corpse back down from the ISS would be... pretty grim to say the least.

I was pretty cavalier about the pump leak when it happened, but they're under a bit of pressure now I suspect what with the suit issue on top of this.

I think this EVA expedition will be more tense than many of us thought.

They are not being paranoid. Actually THERE IS a problem with the draining system inside the astronauts suits, and Luca Parmitano literally drowned during a EVA and almost died.

IMO they shouldn't send other astronauts out in an EVA to fix the pump, without having fixed the suit leaking issue.

The Soyuz carrier rocket can now dock with the ISS in less than 24 hrs, why they didn't request new suits before going out for this EVA??

I think they are facing larger issues. For whatever reasons, sending up more suits might not be possible.

The systems that allow coming/going crafts might not be operational. As they had to shut down lots of stuff.

This EVA is gonna be EPIC. NASA will send two astronauts out for a spacewalk, with improvised snorkels inside their helmets so that they don't drown and die.

Now the ingenious part is to send a smoking hot blonde chick in front of the cameras, to explain their stupid plan.

We are way overdue for a false flag space disaster. Losing a space station crew would put a complete end to manned space exploration on the U.S. and Russian side, and then we would just sabotage the next couple of Chinese manned trips and that would be all she wrote for at least the next 200-300 years. Trapped on this water world, dying from heat and no rain. Simply too much CO2.

Yes it certainly is... so from what I can gather the filter has a universal design flaw that only becomes apparent after several uses...

Dude those astronauts have got balls of solid steel to go out there like this and it's not just once, they have to do it 3 times if I recall correctly.

Imagine if it went FUBAR on the 3rd EVA... that's Christmas day, grim, grim shit.

I have yet to spot the smoking hot blonde chick though...

Hmmm, that tells me the problem is not the suits. Could be the environment is polluted with micro-dust particles traveling high speeds.

Could be the suits are getting swiss cheesed out there with no protection.

There seems to be a lot of meteors recently. Could reasonably imply there is a lot of dust up there too.
