Straight people aren't the only ones putting money into the system. If gays are paying taxes they should have the same benefits. NOT more benefits, NOT preferential treatment, but equal.
This is all a waste of time anyway. Government should be out of our business. Gay, straight, black, white, whatever. Why should government tell you who you can marry??

I think the liberal agenda is sick, but we can't hate all gays for it nor should we keep them from benefiting from a system they also pay into. As a gay person who ten years ago never conceived that my rights to commit to and protect the one I love would ever be honored and recognized in this country, I am overjoyed that the arrow of history has bowed toward justice on this issue; I was married last month to the love of my life. I long for the day that this "issue" is no longer an issue! Just leave me alone to live my happy little life with my wife. Where there has been this wee bit of justice to allow me to pursue the most basic happiness of choosing and protecting my mate, I have watched so many other rights degraded and infringed. People! Forget about gay people and the issue will go away (really, thats what most of us want). Lets get to task on stopping the infringements to the 1st (Patriot Act, NDAA), 2nd (the attempts are constant, and WTF is the ammo?), the 3rd (no govt in our houses - hear that NSA?), 4th (abolish the TSA), 5th (NDAA, rescinding of Habeas Corpus).... Do y'all get the point, already?!
