If you create a scenario where they can simply take out any voting demographic by passing a few economic laws that will create the desired job losses to put them on the government dime then the game is over for good with no chance of it ever changing.

While I agree with you about voting rights, one must seriously wonder how many entitlement recipients would vote for politicians advocating the reduction of such entitlements. I suspect not many. For the record, I don't care for the democrat or republican parties. Historically, the democrats have supported/promoted individual entitlement programs. The number of people on these programs has exploded in recent years, which corresponds with the election of democrats....namely 2 terms for obama who has had remarkably few accomplishments as president, yet seems to maintain some messiah-like following among his sheep. So in other words, when the takers outnumber the makers (which I believe has occurred), whichever party promises more free shit to the takers will maintain power.

And i agree with this. The problem is the system it self has run its course. All taking ppl out of the voting pull does is make it even easier to control the public than it already is.

The new voting class would vote it's interests at the expense of the nonvoting class. That is a hunger games reality in the making. We are alredy at a point where there are people on welfare or whatever who are not lazy or stupid. They got squeezed out in the recession and cant make it back because of politics. Originally you had to be a land owner. That is, you had to have a vested interest in what was done with the taxes (no income tax for the 1st century of America). I wouldn't want to limit voting to only those who pay taxes because half of the country doesn't have to pay after all the communist redistribution of wealth tax "credits". But it you have been sucking off the government teat for more than a year on welfare or food stamps then you should not get to vote. It is a direct conflict of interest.
