The government is militarizing the police for use in war against the American people. There is zero need for a police department to have an MRAP which is impervious to everything except anti tank munitions. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 40663337 United States 12/26/2013 04:55 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I'm afraid a tyrannical government is imminent, and our chances as a free people are only getting worse as time goes on. If we a revolution is to succeed it has to happen soon, before this government completes more of their new "wonder" weapons that will make them unstoppable. Directed energy weapons in all forms and sizes and effects will make resistance almost impossible to a resistance armed only with ballistic weapons. Can you imagine trying to fight but getting permanently blinded by a laser that can cover a full kilometer at a time, disoriented by microwaves until you're curled up on the ground and puking on yourself, then having a hellfire dropped on your position courtesy of a drone? The technology gap is growing too fast, we're not going to stand much of a chance in a couple of years if they get all these things operational. |

I think its already to late. There is so much more in existence that the public isnt even aware of.. Just from the link above.. 3. The Active Denial System A weapon that causes people to feel like their skin is burning without causing any actual damage sounds like a good way to disperse groups of rioters or enemy combatants on the battlefield without killing anyone, but the system, which fires a one-millimeter wave of radiation, is not so reliable. 5. Taser Shockwave This portable device is capable of electrocuting dozens of people at a time when deployed correctly and is primarily used to disperse mobs. 6. This unnamed device fires radio frequencies that make people feel sick. It disrupts human hearing and equilibrium by interrupting the part of the brain that processes sounds and position (relative to gravity). |

Big, Slow, Weak Power to Weight, VERY TOP HEAVY, and bonus... many have one way in and one way out... Which is the dumbest thing I've ever heard of. Kinda shocked me to see it right there in front of me. I walked closer to getter a better view with a co-worker while the 2 guys driving it walked past us to the diner in our parking lot. They stopped and watched us walk closer, and I have to say, I was intimidated. We took a quick look and scurried back to our shop. Point being- "Now available in a city near you!" |

My question is, why the hell isn't it still in the MILITARY?! Don't worry, I know why... Last Edited by Southern Norseman on 12/26/2013 08:21 PM "Cattle die, kinsmen die; the self must also die. Captain Spaulding User ID: 47567453 United States 12/26/2013 08:39 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | The vehicle has sat, since they bought it, in a pool of it's own oil and other fluids. It won't even start, much less run. ALL of the city officials had their pictures taken with it and posted in the local paper. Two of the neighboring towns have them (they never used theirs, either) and they were both available for use by the Surprise PD. This is a retirement community. Why does the PD need 50 cal machine guns, a canon and battering ram that injects poison gas out the end? They've never needed one before! And there it sits. A 1/2 million dollar paperweight. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 51991939 United States 12/26/2013 08:45 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | In Surprise az, the police bought one a few years ago. It was a huge deal. For nothing but a photo-op for the mayor. Quoting: Captain Spaulding 47567453 The vehicle has sat, since they bought it, in a pool of it's own oil and other fluids.
