What if WE THE PEOPLE took over government again?

... you need friends in high places to pull this off. Affluent, influential people with the means to further the cause so to speak.

Does anyone know of any currently elected officials who fit this bill? Who would potentially lend an ear while possibly risking their "career"?

How about someone who isn't in politics but has pull- serious pull like "The Donald". I heard him say that he, with the right people, could put this country on sound financial footing in no time. Would someone like him be looked on as a possible ally? Or is he too much of a capitalist?

Anyway- just wanted to point out that we can unite and have a voice and great ideas but if we don't have people capable of moving and shaking, it's all just ideas born out of frustration.

I'm for it though- just a caveat.

just picture the general masses. we dont know what we want, we are told what to want. otherwise, walmart and commercials and numbered foor menus wouldnt exist.

Supposedly the people of Iraq requested a regime change and the US acted on that request.

So, couldn't we just ask another country for help like the Iraqi people did? Can a country intervene without the use of weapons but with peaceful means? How does that whole process work and why can't we do it ourselves?

The Iraqi people asked for the US not to invade. They ignored the Iraqis the way they ignored the American people.

This is NOT about America. It is about the world. The US is one piece of that puzzle. An important piece no doubt, but still just one piece. Asking others is not the solution. It never has been. This is the time for us to step forward and accept that WE are the ones we have been waiting before. And it's about time we recognised that fact.

Anyway, was going to say - - why don't we allow new leaders to emerge organically and naturally.

Change can be scary... but if we are taking back our control as a people collectively... then we can help shape a new direction and just need to trust that it will be far better than where we're headed now, if we continue as we are.

when people come together in unity..then the government will follow the people.

I guess that all depends on what direction you plan on taking in order to accomplish your goals.

If you're plan is to make those currently in office accountable, then numbers would certainly help to effect change.

If your plan is to replace those in office with the like-minded folks you speak of, via an alternative party etc., then you need numbers AND movers and shakers.

If I'm missing something (which is entirely possible), I'm interested in hearing what your ideas are.

I think if we're going to ask anyone to 'intervene' it should be the U.N. which is (and shall be more and more) the peacekeeper of our new world, if we collectively shape it and allow it's true beauty to shine forth (not the One World Imperialistic crap but the One World where we ARE all AS ONE).
