Stalingrad was some hardcore shit. We cannot handle or comprehend.

1,129,619 Red Army casualties, 478,741 personnel killed or missing and 650,878 wounded. 25,000 to 40,000 Soviet civilians died. 500,000 to 850,000 Axis casualties. We are talking hand-to-hand combat here, people fighting with shovels and pick-axes. Blood everywhere. Fucking Russian winter. Planes and mortars flying overhead. Troop lines ten meters apart at times.
