The passing of George lutz - The Amityville Horror is finally over for him

George Lee Lutz..... we will miss you!

George passed from this life on May 8th 2006. The reason for his death is undisclosed. In spite of the controversy concerning Amityville, he always stuck to his guns. He and his family experienced a terrible event, a haunting that caused himself & his family to flee from their home. They never recovered their possessions for fear of "tainted residue" from the haunting itself. George has freely admitted to the discrepancies within the movie/s concerning the haunting. Those 28 days were terrible and changed the lives of his family forever. But not in the way Hollywood dramatized the event. I remember how upset George was with the latest movie and how he said "just that" on his website. All he ever wanted, was to have his say in the movie, and have it portrayed according to the actual events.

I called him before the opening of the movie and counseled him to remove his statement directed to the studio from his site. He was extremely upset and his words conveyed his anger most intensely. It just goes to show, however, that he was passionate about the accuracy of those 28 days. For the most part, he sold the rights to that part of his life, and so the story was never told accurately. We will never know how bad the event really was and why his family fled from the house that night. But consider this, we aren't seeing any death bed confessions either.

George and his family experienced a horror beyond description. The intensity was bad enough to cause his family to flee with only what they could carry and they never returned. Because of that event, George spent the rest of his life defending his claim and disputing the inaccuracies of the movie. But guess what else? He spent a lifetime helping others through horrible hauntings as well. I personally have been involved in some rather intense research concerning human & non-human entities. And in the process, I found myself in a complex situation with a non-human. I was fearful and called George. He counseled me in ways of combating such forces. I asked him why he didn't share such information with the world. His response was, "some things are not meant for the masses". I believe his thinking was this, that such information could be detrimental if used incorrectly. He also helped me to make a connection with Lorraine Warren. I received counsel from her concerning a separate issue....thank you, Lorraine!

hghhggfSo, in conclusion... I want to share this: George lived the Amityville horror. He experienced things within that home that we can only imagine. He has spent his whole life defending those events. But he has also used the experience to further his learning. And because of his thirst for knowledge, he learned a great deal. Unfortunately, most of that will go with him to the grave. However, I do know that he had accumulated a wealth of notes from his research. And from what he has told me, it would be an eye-opener for the world to see. I hope & pray that his family will someday gather those notes and use the material to further the research. I know that what can be shared, should be shared. He would want that.

George, I admire you for the way you dealt with the Amityville controversy. I must admit, I wouldn't have been so understanding and compassionate with those who would be so quick to judge. I thank you for being my friend and for always picking up when I called. And isn't it exciting for you now... you have the answers to the afterlife. We here at Ghoststudy will miss you greatly!
