All i know is if you have high Blood Pressure it's not good to have mate tea often.

I'm not too keen on the smokey taste of the tea. I like teas generally but mate is yucky to my palate.
I've had a couple of jars of it in the cupboard for yrs!
Maybe one day it'll be currency if folk get so addicted to it...i'd better keep hold of it!

I have been drinking Yerba Mate for almost 2 years because:

I WANTED TO REDUCE MY CAFFEINE INTAKE BY HALF COMPARED TO BLACK TEA.

All the while retaining the healthful properties of black tea, then some. It's a near zero buzz lift. When prepared properly, it has a richness of white chocolate without the sweetness. I don't put anything in it as its rich enough as it is. No bite, very mild, almost disappointing to a first timer expecting something exotic or exceptional.

A lot like meadow tea the Lancaster, PA Amish sell.

Yerba Mate is a very healthy drink that's totally NOT addictive. Francis drinks it probably to appeal to Argentinians, because that tea is folklore in that region.

Yerba Mate is a TEA that is alkaline and causes your body to move to a more neutral state on the alkaline level which if you study some doctors.... inhibit cancer. Some doctors think because of the lack of oxygen in the system and the high acidic diets we eat, causes the cells to be starved of oxygen and thus, cancer cells start to form.

This is only something that I've read in many different places... But the OP that posted this dumb fucking article should read about something before fear mongering and posting stupid shit about tea.

Yerba mate is a drug as addictive as marijuana and very destructive....the proof is that yerba mate users, walk on the streets and share the drug with strange people, this is similar to pot where they share with strange people.....nobody approaches to you when you are drinking coffee or eating food and ask...give me some of your cofee .. or give me some of your beef.....only drug addicts do that...and that is yerba mate.... go to Uruguay if you like good marihuana and good yerba mate......bro!!!
