California Hospital Dictates Limits to Hope and Prayer | |

Prayer is a theological black hole and there's no empirical evidence to prove that it works. Here's the good news Bible-Tards: Prayer has no effect! That means you can stop mumbling your platitudes and actually do something productive; for example, donating to cancer research or helping families with their medical bills. Prayer is mental-masturbation from weak-willed people too lazy to do anything useful or meaningful with their lives. 6 months UK then 6 months USA. Even just mentioning the prayer got your adrenalin pumping. Imagine what the real thing will do to you some day, once you mature a bit from the public school indoctrination. Although your teachers may have not brought that to your attention, the medical research officially recognizes and appreciates greatly the power of beliefs to beneficially affect healing. For example, any new drug must be tested in placebo controlled manner -- one half of test subjects receives real drug, the other receives placebo. Both groups will improve and the effectiveness of the drug is judged relative to placebo, not to improvement itself. If the patient's beliefs had no beneficial effect on healing, there would be no reason to more than double the costs and efforts for the drug trials. |

You felt the need to post and bewail the good sense of a hospital. It seems to have got your adrenalin pumping. I hope one day, once you mature a bit from your Bible school indoctrination, you will educate yourself and discover the truth. Your poor grasp of double-blind and pharmacological testing is,quick frankly, astounding. A placebo does not require faith in a deity to work, and your poor attempt to link the two,is most probably due to your lack of ability to apply critical thinking skills. I believe this is fairly common amongst Bible-Tards. Please, in future, try to construct a more coherent and logical, argument. It is what your mythical GAWD would want. 6 months UK then 6 months USA. I disapprove of what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it. |

Unlike yourself, I do not feel the need to list my professional qualifications. Your need to self-aggrandize already tells me more than I need to know about you. You also need to re-read your post(s).For a scientist, your syntax, sentence structure and above all, your comprehension skills, are sadly lacking. As to you post and your desperate attempt to try and emote an emotional response,I respond thusly: God does not exist.Just a sad and desperate need, from emotionally immature people, to abdicate responsibility for their life, to an invisible 'cloud-faerie.' I hope this clarifies my position on this matter. Last Edited by IntoTheLight on 01/05/2014 09:18 PM 6 months UK then 6 months USA. Thread: Weigh in on Jahi McMath story I don't think he was intending to over ride God's opinion. He is just reiterating the opinions of three separate doctors who have reached the same conclusion. I hope and pray she can live through this move too. |

Group focused intent does have power. It has nothing to do with religion. Its natural law in this co-created observer centric reality. "Accept now that all you have seen from the day of your birth on the surface of the earth, to the present, are wonderful only because the finite mind of man is confused with fragments of evidence, that, from whatever direction we meet them, spring from an unreachable infinity." "There was a man who could create what could not be imagined. A temple so great you questioned if it was built with human hands. A man who built an idea into the greatest force the world has ever known. A world built from a single word. I care not for the folly of man but for the end of human contention." |

Thank-you for proving my point, my petulant little friend. Your 'ad-hominem' attack is quite obvious as is your continuing attempt to elicit an emotional response. I'm glad you can speak 'five' languages. I do not feel the need to self-aggrandize myself as to my capabilities or skills. Maybe I'm speaking in my 'seventh' language? Please try to focus and discuss the matter at hand, which was the 'power' of prayer, and less on your desire to prove how intelligent, or not, you are. Thanks! This headline is both disingenuous and misleading, it also comes from a biased 'Christian' website. You must try harder to find some proof; but I suppose your desire to find proof, any proof, no matter how false, overrides your desire for the real truth. It's a shame you have to use biased and misleading articles to try and 'prop-up' your dying religion. I wonder what Jebus would think, as yet again, the Bible-Tards lies are exposed?
