I do think you are right in a sense because we are all sinners so we all must rely on the forgiveness of Jesus and his atonement for our sins because we can never fully make up for them ourselves. And just like the thief on the cross who repented at the last moment Jesus says this day you will be with me in paradise. You also clarified your position when you said that this fact does not give us license to sin. I think faith in Jesus gives us the grace to be free of sin. I think this is true. It does bother me when people think this fact gives them license to sin that is the problem with this sort of thinking. I just hope and pray people turn their hearts to God before its too late I worry about people not realizing or even knowing how deceived they are into thinking their souls are free from sin and they are putting themselves in danger. I worry for myself thinking this too it's so easy to slip into this thinking.
