AN 86 year old man is trying to stay alive for a reason, especially under these circumstances..: Doctors carried out emergency surgery to minimise the damage and relieve pressure on the brain. But Mr Sharon never emerged from his coma. He was reduced to a permanent vegetative state and kept alive only by a comprehensive system of life support. Not for that specific reason, but perhaps God has moved them to want to keep him alive, because he WAS their leader and protector for a very long time.
