Um, just because it's turning into snowball up here in the Northern Hemisphere doesn't mean it's freezing everywhere.

Last year was Australia's hottest on record, and one of the hottest ever recorded across the globe.

It's called climate change.

One thing triggers another.

Ice melts in one spot, changes ocean currents, salinity changes due to fresh water coming into the system, temps change in large areas of ocean and whole weather patterns get disrupted.

Also, we've seen huge methane releases due to ice melts that fuck with the system as well.

The truth is that people haven't been around long enough to really know shit about shit. We are guestimating about a lot of stuff.

The climate, it does change, that's a fact.

We think we know stuff, from our geological surveys and ice cores and shit, but it's all data mapping and best guesses.

Dumping shit tons of pollutants into the oceans and atmosphere can't be helping, nor can clear-cutting god only knows how many millions of acres of forests, which serve as natural filters and oxygen producers.

How much of this current change is caused by the stupidity of people and how much would have happened anyway due to natural causes here on earth or from the sun's influence or whatever, no one REALLY knows.

What we DO know is that it's ridiculous to keep treating the only home planet we have as a fucking trash dump an that we need to change our ways before we snuff ourselves out. If the earth doesn't just take care of use itself.

Exactly. The planet was going through a heating cycle like it has so many times in its existence and they said it was due to increasing CO2 levels from burning fossil fuels. In other words, people were ruining the planet.

Now the planet is going through a cooling cycle like it has so many times in the past. The liberals call it man-made climate change. Yet they fail to show how the change is happening. With global warming they gave the plausible explanation of increasing CO2 levels. However, what is the explanation now? How is it getting colder due to man-made activity? It can't be CO2 because that only makes it get hotter? Well?

LOL! That's the thing about you liberals. You simply the complex nature of things into, "one thing happens here, and then something happens there, and viola!" That's why liberals swallow evolution so easily. They simplify the complexities of cell division and mutation into something comically absurd. It only makes sense to them.

I don't like to use labels, but I do know you don't shit where you eat.

This whole planet is a single organism - you can't fuck up one part without impacting the whole and everything that depends on it in order to exist. You might not see the damage right away, but it's there. Things are connected in ways you couldn't even comprehend.

And that's the problem with people.

We don't SEE the connections between things, so we think we're not doing any harm. It's not until years or decades later that we realize that our toxins are poisoning everything or that pesky species we eradicated served a bigger purpose that we ever understood. And by then it's too damn late to do anything about it.

Things are complex, incredibly complex. And we don't know shit about shit. So we need to stop meddling and thinking we can take and take and take from a planet that has sustained millions of species for billions of years without destroying ecosystems and natural processes that we can't begin to comprehend.

Do some research on how the temperature data is gathered, and then altered, and you will sing a different tune. If they keep altering the past colder, they will put our grandparents into an ice age!

I will answer all you liberals in this post. Whether the temperature goes up or down you will claim global warming. Now you try to change it to climate change. However, you guys said it would get hotter, not colder.

The planet has always gone through heating cycles and then cooling cycles. Remember the Ice Age? So these things are normal and dumbass liberals are trying to tax everything to take advantage of the global warming hype.

Many of the errors are statistically significant in the data.

How well the current data can predict future warming is still uncertain.

The models have trouble accounting for many variables.

Proxy data for past temperature (tree rings etc, oxygen isotopes...) is low quality data subject to significant errors.

There is a pause in warming that is still not explained, even as CO2 levels rise.

This is not the science of Newton, Bohr, Planck, Maxwell, Einstein.

They always are. However, the dataset is vast, and in total it points to only one overall trend.


Correct. That is why the models keep being refined, and give ranges of possible outcomes. All the models agree that warming is going on, and in general the extent of that is increasing as the models are refined. Given that the models are based around the effects of carbon dioxide emissions and all the knock-on feedbacks, and they match well with the recent trend, there's a good chance that the general trend is correct. You can't just dismiss an entire problem because the fine details aren't perfectly constrained... ever heard that saying about babies and bathwater?


Very true. That's why the models are generally conservative. For example, the effects of the methane feedback loops are generally not included in the models. There are some that have modelled the sort of releases that are now starting in the Arctic, and their predictions make the msm image of climate change look trivial.


Subjective language doesn't help. Low quality? Sure, some is low quality. Other data, like the ice core and foraminiferal records that show recent warming of the deep oceans, are incredibly good. The point is, that when you have a huge, global problem, you use all the data you can. It's not as if these datasets conflict with each other - they all point in the same direction, and show different facets of the changes. You, on the other hand, seem to be saying that, "Yeah, all these datasets and models seem to show that climate change is happening and is a major problem, but there are some wobbly data points among these [n bazillion], so I'm just going to wait until we have perfect data before trying to do anything." Of course, by that time it will be waaay to late to do anything at all.


Pause in warming? Not yet explained? Where do you get your propaganda from? I assume you're basing this on the sea surface temperature record and ignoring the deep ocean temperature (continued rise), the rapid rise in the Arctic, the ice melt latent heat (you know those ships getting stuck around Antarctica? Why do you think there's so much surface water freezing there at the moment? I'll give you a hint: fresh water freezes more easily than seawater...), the stratosphere and the land. You can't just pick one parameter to measure and ignore everything else. There's a bit of a summary here:

Sheesh. Unfortunately too many people are trying to be clever but are blatantly failing to be wise. Note that this doesn't even touch on the carbon credits, taxes or anything like that. Personally I think those are unworkable distractions, and won't even have much effect. We need much more drastic changes if our civilization is going to survive the next century.
