Re: Just wanted to chat about some deep things with some intelligent, well read individuals who enjoy thinking out of the box!
My ideas are broad and I still have a lot of learning to do.. Reality is definitely not what it seems - unless you consider 'reality' to be our simple state of waking conscious.

Everything we are taught is based towards our lives, on earth. Not much more. We're guided towards believing that a path of success in our system is to acquire material items, not knowledge. The only "knowledge" that's important is the kind that allows you to maintain your profession. It's fucked.

There is much more going on and while I find many ideas fascinating, here are some that I think of often or some that resonate with me.

- What we think of as aliens could actually be our race, from far in the future, traveling back in time for tourism, entertainment or learning purposes.

- We are biological robots. Our 'god' in the most basic sense is only whoever our creator is. Rather than a ethereal or spiritual entity, our creator is most likely a highly intelligent and advanced race from somewhere else in our solar system, galaxy or universe.

- The Universe is subjective to our soul, and/or current life form that we occupy. There are multiple planes/dimensions of existence.

- What if we're simply a test, no more important to some other race than an ant farm is to a human? We feel that it would be impossible, because our lives are so complex, full of emotions and events that we cannot contemplate then being utterly irrelevant to the outside world.

- What if we are all just data from a computer program? We are intelligent enough to seek answers and look for a higher truth, but we will never really find it. We will acquire knowledge, but never the truth to our existence because we are programmed not to be able to, it's impossible. We might simply just be doing our jobs, just as a processor in a computer does it's job. It even has memory and the ability to learn, but it also has set limitations on its capability.

- Existence, time and space seem to be limited yet limitless at the same time. Even the most ridiculous of theories, is, in fact, completely plausible. Anything that can be imagined could literally be 100% possible when it comes to existence, our origin, other lifeforms, our purpose, etc.

I could go on forever about many different ideas. Our minds and our universe are equally amazing.

W e are here for the exp. To make known what we do not know.
We have always been. We exist in all dimensions, although
aware of this one most of the time.
Reality is an illusion,a persistent one

But why is it an illusion? Because you can change it.
Whenever YOU WISH.

I agree with the part of, well for now and sake of a different topic, luck, especially as to where one is born, if one is born rather than aborted, etc. We are definitely not all given an equal playing field. Also included are certain diseases and being well, slow, etc.

But I am not sure if it is all blind luck or not. Could be many may things. But the other possibilities depend on many other parts of your belief system.

So, to start out, just incase anyone wants to play, what do you intend to get out of life, or why do you think we, or you personally, are here?

Or, what are your ideas of life and this and other dimensions, universes, etc?
 Quoting: Patrick Bateman

I intend to learn as much as possible about everything...

I feel that we are here to learn what it means to be human...To learn and appreciate life...To not fear death...For it is not the end of the journey...

I believe there are multiverses...In each one that we exist in we learn different things...We share experiences with others and that is why we find connections with some feel right...What we share/experience imprints upon us in all plains of existence...That is why some of us multitask so well! LOL
 Quoting: Settle4It

By the ability of humans to question their origins would imply that the mind of the human species is much more than the sum of the whims of one single entity...The creation/evolution debate will surely survive the ramblings of mere mortals on an insignificant forum with many souls that can neither agree to disagree nor are willing to face these issues with an open heart...

Mans journey into the realm of what we should call "life" has began beyond the stars and there it will end...Whether your life is dedicated to the worship of a non corporeal entity or the belief that you have evolved from another sentient being, is more of a dilemma to the will of the soul than to the concept held dear by the heart...

"Human" is more than a decided definition from the minds of the learned scholars that would tend to produce the literature which is key to the scholastic system as we know it...Human is and will forever be synonymous with the heart of man and the soul of a condition that will always be giving and caring...Being human is the pentacle that we should strive to perfect and radiate from our very being...

We should all strive to be more than the sum of the popular belief system...The mind can imagine every thing from the smallest of particles, to small to see with the most powerful equipment we now possess, or the expanse of a universe that numbers can't find the end to...

Why would any human give sway to the ramblings of literature that is neither accurate nor poetic, and yet we would kill the human spirit in its name...We would destroy the very essence of humanity for the sake of believing "my dad is bigger than yours"...Human will survive long after the ink fades, long after the temples crumble, and long after the tablets return to the Earth...

For those that cannot see beyond their own eyelids or see into the hearts of man, know that you are Human and your life will forever be your own...

Awesome! I agree with some of it, Especially the "religion" It is has for the most part always has been used as a tool for the people. Hope and belief are extremely strong tools, and kings and leaders have always exploited them for their own benefit or agenda, often no matter how much damage it caused the people.

Since I don't want to create a dictionary to describe a new thing let us describe inside a familiar framework. The film "The Matrix was very popular and introduced to a lot of people the idea of virtual reality. Imagine a school in which you have the experience of learning on a gut level the lessons you have trouble with on an abstract level. So if you don't get the lesson because of a pressure brought against your essence by lusts of the flesh (instincts, drives of necessity but bombs if mismanaged) or frustrations or trauma ad infinitum..
the lesson is ramped up until until you learn or fail.

The matrix is because stuff gets arranged. Higher intelligence. So - does that fly?

For sake of argument say you were entrusted with much and coked it away and drank and you then get another shot at something you are missing? Pain is usually associated with motivation. You don't go to sleep with it. The lesson is perhaps how you handle adversity and going through the experience is coincidental. It's how you handle it is the test.

I have already fulfilled my chosen responsibilities for this life...I'm only 39 but I have always been an overachiever, because I was never told when my time would be up, so logically I took initiative and accomplished what I set out to do from an early age.

From here on out it's cake...the investments of life just keep rolling in and I enjoy them and do my best to pay it forward to those that deserve it.

The secret to a happy life is to work hard, play hard, love hard, and give it all away without wanting or expecting anything in return...and enjoying the whole process while you marvel in the brilliance of God's divine plan.

Re: Just wanted to chat about some deep things with some intelligent, well read individuals who enjoy thinking out of the box!
I don't intend to get anything out of life. I have no idea why I am here. I came into this world alone and am quite sure I'll be going out alone. Seriously. I know that I've been in a stream of ever changing circumstances and events, that I've learned a lot from. I am constantly learning. I'm a sponge. I believe we have different purposes and lean towards them naturally as we go with the flow. I am drawn towards naturalistic things, animals, plants, spirituality, etc. and have been surrounded with such all my life. I can heal things, but find that I don't want to be bothered with it any more as most are too far gone nowadays. Let the universe sort things out and I'll help pick up the pieces when the time comes. I am very much a spiritual being. What does it mean? I couldn't guess, but I feel like I'm in a holding pattern for something that is to come. It is not my job to change the world. No delusions of grandeur, but respond as need presents itself. I am positive we are part of a multi-dimentional universe as I've had a number of experiences that have shown me so. (No, I am not a drug user.) Seek and you shall receive. Am I intelligent or well read? I couldn't say that. I can say that people that are "interesting," are those that are "interested."

I'll bite.

First, in the grand scheme of things, we are here for just a short amount of time. In that time, I want to have a positive influence on those around me, and do so in a way that empowers my children and their children to do the same.

Second, the idea of a "programmed" or Matrix type of universe is a fascinating topic to contemplate.

Nice. Yes, in the scheme of all, our time as we are now, is extraordinarily short.

Matrix type universes are also fun and there will be many more of them out in our universe shortly, due to technology and what not.
 Quoting: Patrick Bateman

all of you will find yourselves in a fully planned hence duly ordained "matrix" if that's a term which you have a preponderance for hence a preference regarding

following on the heels of the closing out of this present Age and/or dispensation of time. it will be exactly as you've been foretold accordingly

in regard to the many, clearly the strong majority, it will be anything but pleasant, starting off...

who's fault will that be you wonder? entirely your own, each of you by virtue of your own merit or utter lack thereof.
