Rather than get depressed that essentially life has no meaning, he thinks that is the meaning.
It is beautiful when you understand it. That is one reason I have been trying to get some to read that essay of his, the Myth of Sisyphus.
In Greek Mythology he was a man who out-witted a couple of gods, different ones depending on the era, and as result, was forced to push a huge boulder up a giant hill all day, then when he reached the top with no where to go, it would roll back down and he had to start over, endlessly.

This is basically what human life is to us, and he gets really deep with existence and the irony etc. If anything of this sort or existentialism interests you it is a must read and it is only 100 pages or so.
