Re: What does a gift from Jesus Christ look like?
Hmmm.. Brightstarz, do you care to defend yourself here?
 Quoting: gracebear

Do you know of Mark 15:4?

Or Mark 15:3
 Quoting: Brightstarz

That's because he knew he had to be crucified.

Do you mean to imply that you know that you need to be falsely accused of sharing raunchy tabloid news?
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 52312629

good point.

I think he means he's just going to let the truth take it's course.
He knows in his heart if that was him or not.
Us on the outside just have to use our best judgement and hope for the best.
 Quoting: gracebear

Even though it was just before he was crucified in my experience on the forum especially on the net, or in life arguments flare up very easy and accusations are more or less constant like for some people just saying you a Christian will get you black balled and they will just bring up stuff against you no matter what.

I've had a lot of experience with arguing with people particularly arguing for my innocence over things defending myself over and over in past. I use to care about my reputation out of pride, now I don't.

That's why I've finally realize the significance of those verses in Mark and the wisdom in it. Because I don't think it's only when he was crucified but that there is a principle behind it. That it really does not matter what the accuser says or how people in the world judge you. It only matters what the father in heaven thinks of you and getting right with God, and you cannot hide anything from him anyway. Every moment and every thought is a open book. I live my life like that now. In fear of what Jesus Christ thinks of my every thought. That has being the source of a lot of my mourning when I reflect on a day and consider any little things I did wrong including wasting my time on net, and that can be scary to see when you cross a line but it's part of the transformation that happens as you struggle against the flesh.

Here is a good video on it that I saw recently.

My friend it may not be a gift you find along "the way," but it is a gift you find along the Way, the Truth, and the Life!

Glad to hear you found the keys to the kingdom, but please do not suggest that it is not something meant for everyone. It's only a matter of time now, the Holy Fire is being kindled because God's people are stirring again. Thank God constantly for the wondrous peace that he bestows on us and watch it grow and grow and GROW! How can peace grow? Joy! And only the Joy of a seemless walk with the Holy Ghost can bring a growing peace that glows forevermore.
 Quoting: GhostWriter 52312629

I would never suggest it was something not meant for everyone. It is there for all to take as are every one of His gifts are and like most things sometimes you find them in the most unlikely situations because our look through the glass that is dark. he will give us our sight though and our knowledge will become complete. What a glorious day it will be!
 Quoting: ByFaithAlone

Awesome! Incomprehensibly glorious! I am curious then: what did you mean when you said that grace through empowerment is not found along the way?
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 52312629

I actually didn't say that. I said I think grace is found through empowerment(only one of the ways it is found) because it is you reading the word and it coming alive to you and is then manifested in your actions. It is the giving/gift of wisdom that helps you to understand why we believe what we do and stand firm in it when other begin to waver. That is the gift of scripture when it becomes not just words on a page but you watch it like a fairytale become alive and life giving. Everything works together-grace, humbleness, wisdom etc. As humans while our cup will be filled to overflowing each one is not filled the same way over time. Our journeys are unique and fitted, taylored, to a specific purpose in the kingdom.
 Quoting: ByFaithAlone

Well, I'm sorry I took one of your phrases out of context then! I clearly misappropriated an antecedent to a pronoun. My apologies for the misunderstanding. That explains why that bit stood out like a sore thumb to me from the rest of your enlightenment; I was simply living through the facade of my own limitations once again!

NVM I see it. Let me clarify-I think like all gifts you have to walk in the spirit in order to be granted them. I see grace as a gift and I think grace is found through empowerment(only one of the ways it is found) because it is you reading the word and it coming alive to you and is then manifested in your actions. It is the giving/gift of wisdom that helps you to understand why we believe what we do and stand firm in it when other begin to waver.  Quoting: ByFaithAlone

You and I are on the same page my attempt to explain has fallen drastically short and become difficult because of poor wording on my part. To me these are wonderful gifts of the spirit and while you may see them in unlikely situations it is only through the spirit that they fully become what they are meant to be.

Since people have been going out of their way to bomb Brightstarz, I would like to go out of my way to explain one of the reasons she is so awesome and so used by Jesus:

Her thread on the translation of "aion kolasis" completely liberated my heart and brought unity to the Gospel within it.

Everyone needs to be aware of the Great Deception that has destroyed the interpretation of Holy Scripture and injected fear and sadism into the image of God. Guys, He's All-Powerful and He wants us to be imitators of Him and He wants to Save EVERYONE from the Strange Voice of the Wicked Accuser!

Haha, apologies. I actually recall that was already in the recesses of my memory, but if thoughtlessness sets in at just the right time and place in the mind, one's former assumptions can easily go uncorrected. Thankfully, our minds dwell and abide with Christ in Higher Places, like the Everlasting Source of Joy that is the Hope of Glory!

Repetitious? Got issues with my citing John 14:6 more than once?

Maybe Jesus offends your sensibilities in John 3 where HE Witnesses 3x to Nicodemus about being Born-Again.

There ain't no surrender Unto Christ Jesus.

If you're HIS Follower, you're supposed to be Following HIS WAY Unto The Father...

Of course, understanding The Gospel is All A Matter of heart; your heart... Jesus Witnesses Plainly and matter-of-factly to The Disciples in Matt 13:11-15 that HE Teaches using parables in order that those who "cannot Hear With Their Heart will NOT understand; lest HE Would Have To Heal them"...

But only to some is it "Given To KNOW The Mysteries Of Heaven"...

If you KNOW and Live With Father's NEW HEART Of Flesh, then you KNOW Jesus did not Give it to you.

Why promulgate the Laodicean bullshit?
Want to make Jesus over in your own guise to suit your own rationalizations? Such is The Laodicean WAY. That is why in Revelation ch 3, Jesus Witnesses HE Will Spew Forth the "lukewarm" Laodiceans.

Those who chose to ignore "Must Be Born-Again", but rationalized that God Knows their heart and they're cool with HIM on terms they manifested in their carnal way of seeking HIM...

There is no carnal-way of seeking HIM.
You either surrender from brokenness and in complete humility and submission, or you remain apart.

These are The Final Moments.

Jesus' Gift IS All HIS Witness.
The Word Become Flesh...

The OP's father has no clue about Christ's Suffering. Think it was physical pain Jesus suffered? It was living those hours in alienation from The Father, WHOM HE Had Always Been IN Constant Contact With For All Eternity. The deprivation and estrangement from The Father which Jesus Had To Endure to Redeem us... That is suffering, that was HIS Pain. The Father cannot Look Upon sin. Jesus Bore the sin of the world. That was HIS Agony. That was what Jesus Sweated Blood in the garden Hoping To Avoid... HE Asked For Another WAY... It wasn't about enduring pain or humiliation.

Of course, never having Been Brought Into God's Accord, how could you KNOW, much less understand?

Amazing how Jesus Witnesses in Matt 13:12 that "those to whom (The Knowledge Of Heaven) has NOT Been Given, will have what knowledge they do have taken away"...

Just like in Matt 24:24 how all in These Final Moments will be suffering under deception. HE's talking Christians here; "even, were it possible, The Very Elect"!

Yet, Abiding With God as they/we do, The Very Elect, cannot be deceived...

Have you chosen/elected to give your all Unto The Father?

"For many are called, but few are chosen", Jesus Witnesses in Matt 22:14

Few Christians "choose/elect" to make their surrender.
Few are or will be Born-Again.

Claim all you want Of-HIM.
HE Plainly Witnesses IF you aren't Born-Again, HE Does NOT Know you...

Gonna be some heavy words to hear when you presumed upon HIM all your life....

Food for thought for the faithful. Let it go straight to the heart and don't let your head-mind stop it. The heart-mind knows all, friend. Listen to the little voice beneath any agitation you feel and let it sweep the agitation away and replace it in your heart with the full, everlasting, pure resonating Hope of Glory. Feast away, friends. Do not be deceived! There is no gluttony to be had in communion with the flesh of Our Holy Savior. Let us be Our Utmost for His Highest!

WHY NOT?

Yet, Abiding With God as they/we do, The Very Elect, cannot be deceived...

Have you chosen/elected to give your all Unto The Father?

"For many are called, but few are chosen", Jesus Witnesses in Matt 22:14

Few Christians "choose/elect" to make their surrender.
Few are or will be Born-Again.

Claim all you want Of-HIM.
HE Plainly Witnesses IF you aren't Born-Again, HE Does NOT Know you...

Gonna be some heavy words to hear when you presumed upon HIM all your life....

Here we have the monstrosity that is called "Log in the Eye" syndrome.

I do not disagree with anything other than your wretched emotional abuse of your fellow Christians who believe in and worship the same God that you do. I am not the one who spoke with authority against vain repetitions, perhaps you should spend more time reading and less time citing the same verses.

Have you studied the meaning of the term carelessly translated eternal punishment?

Do you also know that Christ says he is going to SAVE ALL? Do you know what "ALL" means? It's interesting you left that part out. It's also interesting that you keep claiming the Father doesn't know everyone's Heart. I think you need to spend more time reading the book you claim to believe and less time finding a way to fit it into your preconceived notions.

You are dealing with some dangerous demons, son. And they are trying to use you to scare people away from God's fold. The Church will not stand for this, but I can do nothing other than point out the hypocrisy and bile in your patchwork of miscontextualized truths. Turn your "righteous" anger over to God and he will give you a blessing to give to others, rather than your pathetic attempts to harm his flock.

Re: What does a gift from Jesus Christ look like?
Of course, understanding The Gospel is All A Matter of heart; your heart... Jesus Witnesses Plainly and matter-of-factly to The Disciples in Matt 13:11-15 that HE Teaches using parables in order that those who "cannot Hear With Their Heart will NOT understand; lest HE Would Have To Heal them"...

But only to some is it "Given To KNOW The Mysteries Of Heaven"...

 Quoting: Lester 52601140

What you have done to this passage of the Holy Scripture is purely unconscionable.

Lester, beloved son. I want you read this passage again in its completeness straight through without chopping it up in your displacement/projection/hypocrisy shop.

Praise God for the beautiful sweet knowledge of his Goodness, Mercy, Power, Sovereignty, Beauty, and Grace and thank Him for His Holy Comforter.

Lester, you need to see to it that you are filled with Perfect Love because Perfect Love casteth out fear and you have a great deal of fear in your spiritual tissue, my boy. There is absolute surrender in allowing the Holy Spirit to absolutely purify the sickness of not being wholly possessed by God. There is freedom in surrender, my boy! Let yourself go, Lester! You picked the right guy to trust, just let go of all those nasty things that he can't allow to mix with His Kingdom!

Re: What does a gift from Jesus Christ look like?
1 John 4
17 Love has been perfected among us in this: that we may have boldness in the day of judgment; because as He is, so are we in this world.
18 There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment. But he who fears has not been made perfect in love.
19 We love Him because He first loved us.

20 If someone says, “I love God,” and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he who does not love his brother whom he has seen, how can he love God whom he has not seen?
21 And this commandment we have from Him: that he who loves God must love his brother also.

Re: What does a gift from Jesus Christ look like?

I think you need to read Psalm 94, Lester. SERIOUSLY. In case you don't believe me, here's an excerpt to get your attention:

"They kill the widow and the sojourner, and murder the fatherless; and they say, "The Lord does not see; the God of Jacob does not perceive."

Does this remind you of anything you said? scratching

It gets better!

"UNDERSTAND, O DULLEST OF PEOPLE!

Fools, when will you be wise?

He who planted the ear, does he not hear? He who formed the eye, does he not see? He who disciplines the nations, does he not rebuke?

He who teaches man knowledge (the Lord) knows the thoughts of man, that they are but a breath."
