Hmm. Are you sure that's the reason? I have been reading of hints of this knock off kind of stuff for a while now and just was able to find this detailed info.

I was thinking, but do not know, that maybe these people were working on research for the good of mankind, and when the powers were done with them had had gleaned the sought after information, they offed them.

Just an idea. Don't know whose side they were on. I believe also that these scientist-types are really into discovery primarily because that's what they love. I don't think they are doing this type of work to get rich but because they love it.

And those are my thoughts on that.

Ask yourself one simple question: has anything that's come from the feeble minds of these 'scientists' actually resulted in something better for human beings. Not for comfort. Ease. Or pleasure. Or making people sick and dependent on a non-existent 'authority' system of diminishing maintenance.

That is what I understood about these researchers, they were researching cures. Some had been to a meeting somewhere, and all are dead. I think they may have objected to something.

They served their purpose for the creation of a terrible weapon.
