I'll bet that I could estimate the time it would take for me to think of something and figure it out, if I had both an external reference point I could compare myself to, and acute insight on the nature of my own ability to argue against others.

Knowing that I am able to outwit many people if needed, and then focusing on a particular someone and gaging the acuteness of my own aforementioned ability versus that of their own, I could probably predict how long it will take me to completely psychoanalyze that person.

What you reckon? Make sense? a relatively concrete reference point would be required at the least.... it's not as though it would work for new abstractions.

But the latter tend to flow like electricity.... either 'on' and nearly instant, or 'off' and stagnant.

Observing yourself calculating yourself whilst observing another to help observe yourself.

About as needlessly complex as getting water from a rock....

Maybe allowing for a prediction of a minimum time required. Because I'd be running at near full capacity. I'd assume.
