A grave injustice in "the land of the free"...a POW in the war on weed

Last month, Chris Butts, the president of the organization Alabama Medical Marijuana Coalition, was arrested at his home. Chris suffers from pain every day due to an injury, and rather than quit work and go on disability, he would smoke a bit of marijuana every day to help his pain. The local sheriff's office came to his home on a supposed child welfare check and when the door was opened, smelled marijuana. They obtained a search warrant and found his plants in the outdoor shed and arrested him. Chris is currently being held on, get this, a bond of ONE MILLION DOLLARS!! Yet rapists and murderers have bonds much lower! This in a country where medical marijuana is legal in several states and recreational marijuana is legal in two! What's good for CO and soon WA should be good for all! I have nothing against states' rights, but there needs to be a way to make it legal NATIONWIDE! If you leave it up to the states, backward states like Alabama will NEVER legalize it! I feel so bad for Chris and his family, especially considering that he is not able to smoke his medicinal herb every day and help his pain. Yes, people are FINALLY starting to open their eyes that cannabis is NOT evil, but there is much more work to be done!
