Quoting: Beanie 1164564 I find that sleeping on a fleece and covering with a down comforter helps; but how to keep warm around the house? Are your water pipes freezing? How cold is it in your house? Quoting: Anonymous Coward 53441426 Can your heater keep up with that cold? I've heard people with furnaces complain that they can't get the temps up to what they set on the thermostat and it runs constantly even when they lower the setting. I use wood and right now it's below zero outside and 72 in the house. At night, a fleece and wool blanket is usually enough, but sometimes, it feels good to add a down blanket too. It's quite miserable when you have to go outside. May be heading your way next winter. 8) ![]() |

That's Celsius by the way, freggin whiners! Quoting: Anonymous Coward 53436031 The problem with the severe cold is this. If the power goes out and your heating needs that to work, well... And if you depend on your car to to work, and the snow and cold and will is start? I can dress for the cold. I can take the cold. In fact I end up sweating in the cold. If I was throwing logs on a fire with no job to get to in the morning, yea, no problem! |
