I love this post. My faith has been weak (or absent) for many years, but seeing all of these words of love for the Lord is reminding me of the love I turned my back on. I only hope He can forgive me one more time.

It sounds like you never believed in the Lord, you'd rather believe in yourself. This is very common nowadays. I know I can't save myself. Some will call me weak for this and it's true, we are weak. Don't fool yourself into thinking you're greater than you are.

You know the story of the prodigal son :) The hour is late though, it's time to repent and trust him. Don't stall forever.

Isaiah 53 for those who have never read it. This is about the Messiah hundreds of years before he was born into the world.

Yes, but the "organized" hold the space for Him, even in His "absence."

Those who serve God in this way are always under attack
from the accuser. Please pray for them.

He convinced me that organized religion was created and continues to be perpetuated by the money changers.

Cause he's quite excellent actually.

I think we do a good job worshiping Jesus without having to pay a priest who doesn't have to Holy Spirit to keep his church up and running.

Yes , interesting thoughts and true of many of my faithfilled Catholic friends . They do suffer a form of persecution .
Like this thread it is really about Jesus and not a denomination or doctrine .
I believe the true church is made up of believers out of many places . They share an undying love for Jesus alone .

Organised religion is still religion. I'm only presenting logic.

I love His infinite love. No matter what we have done or will do, His love is unchanging.

After years of failed attempts, my wife and I conveived a son. The very momen he was born, I grasped the faintest hint of Jesus Christ's unchanging, limitless love. Jesus Christ whispered in my ear, "What you feel now is what I have always felt for you." (That's a paraphrase)

This statement is true. Jesus Christ is alive, and He is not a religion. Don't expect you to trust me, but you can trust Him.

Who is this "he" of "he convinced me"?

We are body and soul.

Churches are bodies, but they are not the souls.

Their buildings need to be maintained, as do human bodies.

The "material" question has perplexed humans for millenia.

It is why we need to be reminded that we are souls.
Organized religions do this, in their imperfect way.
God always finds a way to remind them of their mission.

Give to the church of your choice only what you can.
No honest person would ask more. If someone does, that person is false.

But always give something.

Obviously, you don't know me. I'm a very grounded and pragmatic person. I'm also very compassionate and caring. I used to at least have doubt, but in my mid-20s a switch flipped and I started to *know*, in my mind, that all gods are fictional. I don't need a god to live a good life - you do, and that's fine. And it's also ok to debate the merits of each belief system.

He teaches us how to be decent human beings, leading by example. He loves us all no matter what our sexual orientation is, the color of your skin, etc.

And? Have you never sinned? I am not sure if you are trying to be judgmental so apologies ahead of time if you're not. I hate when people are so busy pointing fingers at others and damning them when they can't see their own crap.

Because real or metaphor, his example is the way back home, and he is literally the Spirit of Peace and Love, the intercessor, akin to our Higher Self, only Love, Kindness, Peace, Equality, Going the Extra Mile for the one in need, not even your best friend, possibly your worst enemy. He represents growing up. For example, if earth were filled with 2 year olds and you were trying to achieve Higher Mind and Grow your soul up, then you would be akin to a teenager, babysitting the children. Now if a 2 year old attacks you with a weapon, would you pull out your gun and shoot him, or would you risk your life to try and help?

Jesus is Higher Mind.
