Re: Why do you love Jesus ?
Wonder how many of us are sitting here thinking we could write a book about this :)

I love Him because He loved me first! In my wretchedness, in all my faults He loved me before. He is everything I wish to be. Everything higher I could ever hope to become. He is my rock, giving peace, hope and comfort in a world that gives none. He shows me what grace and love really is every single day. He is faithful in moments when it is hard to lean. He brings magnificence in my life, taking those moments and searching out the gifts He sometimes hides. He takes my worries away and in there place gives me peace.....

Psalm 100
1 Make a joyful shout to the Lord, all you lands!

2 Serve the Lord with gladness; Come before His presence with singing.

3 Know that the Lord, He is God;It is He who has made us, and not we ourselves; We are His people and the sheep of His pasture.

4 Enter into His gates with thanksgiving,And into His courts with praise.Be thankful to Him, and bless His name.

5 For the Lord is good; His mercy is everlasting,And His truth endures to all generations.

Re: Why do you love Jesus ?
Faith is something personal that is not meant talked about or to be debated, just like one is not supposed to talk about the relationship with the spouse.
As for those that are wasting no time to deny Jesus, I suggest them to google on sleep paralysis, or kanashibari (the Japanese name for it) and Jesus. There are countless testimonials. Otherwise, let them "enjoy" being possessed...

Have to disagree with you there:

1 PETER 3
15 But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts:
and be ready always to give an answer
to every man that asketh you a reason
of the hope that is in you
with meekness and fear:

The great commission COMMANDS every Christian
to PROCLAIM the Gospel to all the world.

If you are a Christian and you aren't telling every soul
you meet of the Salvation available to them through
the Blood of Christ,
you are NOT fulfilling your DUTY as a Christian.

When my child died in a car accident , I did not want to live . I would call on Jesus in my weeping heap on the floor and His amazing peace would descend . Nothing else brought comfort , only Him and His love and peace AND hope .
You can't make that up .
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 53199988

Ummm, yes you can. The human mind is resilient at coming up with bullshit to keep going. In fact you might say it is a programmed mental reset, a real Deus Ex Machina if you will.

I'm more in this camp:

"Is there in the whole world a being who would have the right to forgive and could forgive? I don't want harmony. From love for humanity I don't want it. I would rather be left with the unavenged suffering. I would rather remain with my unavenged suffering and unsatisfied indignation, even if I were wrong. Besides, too high a price is asked for harmony; it's beyond our means to pay so much to enter on it. And so I hasten to give back my entrance ticket, and if I am an honest man I am bound to give it back as soon as possible. And that I am doing. It's not God that I don't accept, Alyosha, only I most respectfully return him the ticket."
- Fyodor Dostoevsky, The Brothers Karamazov

Christianity is an unbalanced equation. So much evil, so much suffering, and no amount of grace, and no eternal pearly gates will ever make good on those that were ripped from this life before their time.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 52894529

You with all your intellectual argument, have no clue about the sudden loss of a beloved child and the love and grace of Jesus who carried me through that dark valley.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 53199988

Actually, my intellectual argument is based on my own personal loss. What you call forgiveness, I call guilt aversion, and it is psychological transference at best, and at its worst, it is full blown psychosis. Dostoevsky got me through my dark valley, and if you want to believe in a God whose own holy book justifies the death of children who make fun of a bald prophet, then go right ahead. Plenty of children die every day in the most horrible, awful ways, and telling me Jesus welcomes them home with open arms, is bullshit, and changes nothing. Until people stop waiting for God to make things right, nothing will ever be right. I want accountability in the here and now, afterlife be damned. How many children have to die before Jesus comes back anyway? 2000 years of atrocities, 2000 years of infants being ripped apart for the amusement of the rich and powerful, and you want to talk about the love and forgiveness of Christ. I want retribution not salvation. Accepting that everything will be made right when you die, is just another lie by those who keep you powerless in your Christian paralysis.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 52894529

The insight I got from Dostoevsky was that the worse torments are always reserved for the soul, not the body.

I understand wanting to receive justice in this life.
Work towards that goal, always recognizing that those who harm don't escape. We just don't know their final destination right now. Even how they will end up in this life, before they meet the Maker.

I can see what they are up to, with their organ transplants, life extension, and transhumanism. It won't help them.

There was a time in my childhood when I walked with God,He was my only comfort in a chaotic world. Funny when you are a child it is easy to believe. I was different from my siblings and generally ousted by my family members. I did not understand I was different, because what reference point did I have? I assumed others thought and had experiences similar to mine. As I entered my teens I had become jaded against the world and walked with my back against God. I even chose an atheist as a mate. Even though the next 20 years I tried to deny,I still knew. God was faithful during my rebellion and protected me until it was the time he appointed. Long story short, God has loved me even during the times I did not love myself. He is the light inside me. He gives me strength that I take comfort in. I am still different, the world still rejects me,But Christ accepts me. I have no special purpose but my relationship.

Re: Why do you love Jesus ?
Jesus does not love everybody and he only came for his bide the church.....you must take up a cross everyday to follow Christ. What are you doing to take up a cross?
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 23410799

That is not true, the atonement was done for everyone even the fallens angels and spirits in Hell and those of mankind whom went to hell and those in this time going to Hell. Understand that many first will choose evils as it was from beginning because of the deception of Antichrist they will commit great sins and lose faith. But even they whom spend time in lake of fire can be released and saved thanks to atonement. Mankind has no comprehension about what atonement truly involved you speak only of the beginning of it the Crucifixion, you dont know what occured after that when people are shown the full story it brings everyone to tears and their knees in gratitude even those whom suffer alot in coming years and those whom get taken down into Hell, when they see the big picture those whom repented will all be gratiful. The Son of Man descended below them all, suffering more than any ever will so that people could be rescued from HELL in time, this doesn't mean many wont go to Hell first getting to Heaven is extremely difficult and even those of prophets are not in Heaven but waiting in Abraham bosom.

Ye are correct about bearing your cross not many will many will to stop the pain of tortures to occur to them when Antichrist comes, they will forsake their faith in Christ and become overtaken and evil when do so in abomination of desolation.

“Do not give what is holy to dogs, or throw your pearls before swine, lest they trample them underfoot, and turn and tear you to pieces.” -Matthew 7:6

If you google "pearls before swine" this is the first thing that shows up:

Pearls Before Swine is an American comic strip written and illustrated by Stephan Pastis, who was formerly a lawyer in San Francisco, California. It chronicles the daily lives of four anthropomorphic animals, Pig, Rat, Zebra, and Goat.

I don't want to debate anymore. I'm sick of debating on this site and everywhere about God. I want to talk about God, I want to praise God. I have just felt the presence of God and I feel love for him.

He is like a beautiful gem stone. A faithful friend, righteous and fair. Who can bless the Lord enough ?
