Pretty soon, they'll just start taking shit out of your account for "official" reasons. Hell, why bother going through an employer to garnish your wages? |

Feds mining hundreds of millions of consumer credit card accounts, mortgages. So... it appears that not even congress has the power to control them! LOL! Congress' powers to oversee the CFPB are limited. The federal Dodd-Frank Act that created the bureau requires that the Senate confirm its directors, such as Cordray, and that the director testify before Congress twice a year, but Congress' authority stops there. The bureau is part of the Federal Reserve, for which Congress similarly confirms top officers but has no direct oversight. Cordray's nomination to the CFPB director's post was confirmed by the Senate last year. |

Feds mining hundreds of millions of consumer credit card accounts, mortgages. When asked by Rep. Jeb Hensarling's committee: "Would you object to getting permission from consumers, those people who you work for, before you collect and monitor their information?" Rep. Sean Duffy, R-Wis., asked Cordray. "That would make it impossible to get the data," Cordray replied. "You can't even opt out," Duffy said. "The NSA does not ask Americans' permission to collect their phone records and emails and texts. The CFPB does not ask permission to collect information on America's financial consumers." |

A committee aide estimated that over the life of the Arg*s contract, the company will collect about 51 terabytes of data, or the equivalent of all the text in all the books in 50 large libraries. |

Feds mining hundreds of millions of consumer credit card accounts, mortgages. I've figured that since the late 90's (at least) that anything online is free pickings for the government and then freely shared amongst the .gov names. Problem is, they can collect the info, but can't really do jack shit with it due to the sheer volume of data collected. And have the NSA and agencies affiliated with it stopped anything or solved or stopped any crimes since their crony Snowden "leaked" what awesome super powers these agencies have? Not really. Data collection is one thing, what to do with it another. Besides, mortgages are public records accessible by anyone. And if you're dumb enough to buy "sensitive" things with a credit card, yer a retard of a special flavor. Expect no privacy from .gov and it's cronies, including Big Business. You are the only person that can protect your privacy and anymore there's about jackshit that is private. Is it wrong? You betcha. But deal with it. |

This data collection will not end well. They always start out with "good" intentions and then next thing you know the hammer gets dropped on you. |

Feds mining hundreds of millions of consumer credit card accounts, mortgages. This has been done for years. Ever hear of Equifax, TransUnion or Experian? All information that these guys collect is freely available to anyone wishing to inquire.
