Q: Why exactly would He do that, considering His statement "without Me you can do nothing"?

He's in this thing to solve the problem(s). He's counted the cost and isn't going to have to abandon the project. "He who began a good work in you", etc.

Re: We must be SINLESS to inherit the Kingdom of God.
I followed the discussion on the other thread a bit, and agree with you on this. The misunderstanding was in the term "work", however - those guys were right, in that our works don't save us, but you're right in that we must be moving towards the holiness of Jesus (Christlikeness).

The issue is about dying to self. The "old man" must be rendered dead and buried; otherwise he remains enthroned within and Jesus really has no place to sit.

>Romans 6: Or do you not know that as many of us as were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into His death?

For he who has died has been freed from sin.

>2 Corinthians 4: We are hard-pressed on every side, yet not crushed; we are perplexed, but not in despair;

persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed—

always carrying about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life of Jesus also may be manifested in our body.

For we who live are always delivered to death for Jesus’ sake, that the life of Jesus also may be manifested in our mortal flesh.

>Colossians 3: Therefore put to death your members which are on the earth: fornication, uncleanness, passion, evil desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry.

Those bulls and goats of the old testament rites represent *us*, obstinate and stubborn. . .the "flesh", or defective human nature must be burned away. God does this via "fiery trials", which equal sharing in Christ's sufferings (1 Peter 4).

This is a vital matter which lukewarm Laodicean Christianity is not even familiar with. This is what's wrong with us. We may talk a good game, but talk is cheap. Most of us can't even handle being called names or challenged by others on GLP - how the @#$% would we handle real, actual persecution?

Christians in other countries pray for us, because we're soft and pampered. We largely have not faced the kinds of ordeals that "trim away the fat", so to speak. When your life is in danger or you don't know where our next meal is coming from, the petty BS goes out the window real quick. If any of this widespread persecution noise actually comes to pass in the USA, it'll be because we *need* it to shake us out of our shallow stupor.

Perhaps a week or two. Now I seek the Holy Spirit and wait for Jesus to take me all the way to perfection.

Oh so according to your false interpretation of the Gospel you've been saved 2 weeks ago and before that you were heading to hell because you had sin. According to you Jesus will leave you and you will be heading to hell again when you sin again I mean if.. I mean when. Once you are saved you are always saved, stop preaching false doctrines man. I guarantee you will sin again.

You can pm me a year or two from now and tell me you haven't sinned since January 2014? I highly doubt that.
 Quoting: Rawrss

Yes two weeks ago I was heading to Hell, Jesus WILL leave me if I start to sin again. He will reject me like he did before I repented. Just like he is rejecting you now. Did you wonder why you don't have a good relationship with Jesus, it's because you are justifying your own and other peoples sins.

If I repent straight away and don't backslide I will be saved again. Everyone will fall because there is alway temptation, I'm not saying Its impossible to sin now, but I'm sure as Hell not saying I will sin ever again.

You are directly contradicting my prayers, You're not speaking from the Love of God.

You must repent and be sinless. Do you honestly think you can continue to sin and have a relationship with God ?

Confess with your mouth if you dare - I believe by the grace of Jesus' sacrifice I may now sin freely and afterwards go to Heaven - I'm trying to get you to see the point, SERIOUSLY, Don't say that !

Calm down. This is why jesus said that FLESH and BLOOD shall not inherit the kingdom of God. As long as we remain flesh we are doomed. The FLESH is DOOMED, not us!

Living in sin? That's a problem. Being a defective human who still screws up once in a while? That's different. It's ultimately about the heart.

And for the record, didn't Jesus publicly pronounce forgiveness on those who nailed Him to the cross? They didn't even know what they had done, so we know they weren't repentant. That didn't seem to stop Him any.

Ultimately, God is going to resolve whatever is wrong with us. Getting there won't be any picnic, but it'll be worth it.

Re: We must be SINLESS to inherit the Kingdom of God.
God's Angel of Rev 14:7 will Give HIS Witness to all humanity. HE won't preach The Gospel. All mankind will KNOW that Father-God IS Real and Christ Jesus Comes In Judgment...

Thus concludes The Age Of Faith and closes The Way Unto The Father...

In verse 9, another Angel Witnesses the fall of mystery babylon the state. Further elaborated on in Rev ch 17, but "gone in one hour". Then the stage is set for the man-of-sin to arise and seemingly save the world... America gone, removed from the world stage in nuclear devastation...

Christ Jesus is pretty clear about being rejected by those HE Was Sent To originally. Read Matt 22, Parable of The King's Wedding Feast For HIS Son... Consider HIS Cursing the Fig Tree which looked so promising, but was barren; when they walked to Bethany before Palm Sunday...

Not yet Born-Again?
What can you Know of Scripture without God's Witness to you to Reveal Its Truth? I'll tell you, you know nothing...

You're seeking God on your own terms, not HIS.
You can't put HIM First.
Your expectations are what you want HIM to fulfill.
You can't just give yourself Unto HIM and Accept HIS Will in full confidence and trust that you will be okay...

Such is the way of the carnal-heart, the stony heart...

OP - Check out Paul Washer on YouTube, he's right up your alley. For me he's a serious dose of humility. But Pastor Dave Stein has a great sermon how Mephibosheth grandson of Saul was treated by David whom he thought had hated him and wished him such ill and the parallels that it pertains to us and that God does not wish us such ill and Jesus came to redeem us as David did to Mephibosheth. Humans cannot be "perfect" in the judgments of this world.

Remember how careful Jesus had to be when questioned by the

elders. They were laying traps for Him, to condemn Him with

law.

It was the same for St. Thomas More. (Please

view, if you wish, the film, "A Man For All Seasons.")

God knows the heart and judges accordingly.

Dude you don't even know who I am, and how do you even know I am living in sin? Heck the only sin Ive been doing is the occasional cussing and as soon as I slip up and cuss I ask Jesus to forgive me. I've been repenting everyday as a child for years before I even picked up a bible and read it I had a relationship with Jesus.

You are greatly deceived and spreading false doctrine like this leads people away fro ever wanted to be saved because they think they have to WORK to get into heaven instead of receiving the FREE gift of everlasting life through Jesus dying on the cross paying for our sins.

My relationship with Jesus is awesome, matter a fact he is using me to attempt to correct your false in biblical, contradicting doctrine.

Here is a scenario, 2 years after being sinless you are walking on the streets and you see a pretty women and you lust, you just sinned after being sinless for 2 years! You forget to repent, and 5 minutes later you cross the street and get hit by a car and die. According to you, if that scenario I just made up you would be going to hell because Jesus left you.

If you can't see how messed up and in biblical that is then you are greatly deceived my friend. I pray Jesus opens your eyes.

God will never leave or forsake you once you're saved, I guess you missed the 10 PLUS verses saying that lol I mean really.
 Quoting: Rawrss

You have no relationship with Jesus. Pray to him about this subject I BEG you.

It's not slipping up that is condemn able, if your scenario happened I dare say I would be forgiven.

It's living a life of sin like you do, a life of sin where you think it's OK. Where you think it's justified. It's living a life of sin. If you have a sinful lifestyle you will not inherit the Kingdom of God. If you slip up and show remorse and pray for forgiveness you will be forgiven.

You are on the broad road to destruction, narrow is the path to life. Few choose the narrow path.

How can Jesus die for your sins if you don't crucify your sins with him ? You're still living with your sins so they didn't die with Jesus !

Derp. Since when does admitting "I still sin sometimes, because I'm not perfect" = justifying sin?

The justification of sin is not to be taken lightly. He calls me a deceiver but plainly says Jesus' death permits sin.

I'm not wrong because I used to do what he is doing, and I was severely punished by God ! If I'm guilty of doing the same thing he is doing right now, then he's guilty.

Re: We must be SINLESS to inherit the Kingdom of God.
My brothers and sister in Christ, did you not know we must be sinless to receive Jesus and the Father's Kingdom ?

We must be sinless to receive the Holy Spirit. We must live as Jesus did, we must be perfect as the Father is perfect.

The Father's perfection is not one of sin. We can't be perfect if we sin, and only the perfect enter God's Kingdom.

Matthew 5 13 “You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled underfoot.

14 “You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. 15 Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. 16 In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.

Matthew 5 17 “Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them. 18 For truly I tell you, until heaven and earth disappear, not the smallest letter, not the least stroke of a pen, will by any means disappear from the Law until everything is accomplished. 19 Therefore anyone who sets aside one of the least of these commands and teaches others accordingly will be called least in the kingdom of heaven, but whoever practices and teaches these commands will be called great in the kingdom of heaven. 20 For I tell you that unless your righteousness surpasses that of the Pharisees and the teachers of the law, you will certainly not enter the kingdom of heaven.

Matthew 5 Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect.

Acts 2:38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

We must be sinless to receive the Holy Spirit, and we can't receive The Kingdom of God without the Holy Spirit.

Does one person here, who says that we may get away with sin and go to Heaven thanks to Jesus have the Holy Spirit ?

I can say no you don't, because I have been there. Accusing those who say we must repent of lies and false doctrines.

It is sin to say we can sin and go unto Heaven. It is persecuting Jesus when you say we can sin and enter Heaven.

NOT ONE who sins will enter Heaven !

Jesus' sacrifice was for our past sins that we might not suffer death but have eternal life in the Name of Jesus the whole worlds Messiah.

Hebrews 10:26 For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins,

If Jesus' sacrifice now permits us to sin, why the need to preach repentance ?

So now, if we sin after accepting Jesus as our Messiah, there is no more sacrifice. Jesus died for our past sins not our willful future sins. We must ALL repent of SINS !

Matthew 5:11-13 11 Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake.
 Quoting: Jesusobsessed

You take scripture out of context. It was about Jews going back to living under the law after they accepted Jesus as lord and savior. There is no forgiveness for those who accept him, then openly turn their back on him and go back to trying to live and be justified under the law.

It is very important to learn to take scripture in context of what was being spoken about. Don't believe me tho, Look it up for yourself.

 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 53711289

Largely what people are angry over is widespread hypocrisy and leavened BS. Most normal people are fine with what Jesus taught whether they believe in Him or not. It's about being good to each other, and most GLPers are onboard.
