"Oppression" means that you think they were oppressive. I am not sure if I agree or if you asked an ancient Egyptian if they would agree, either. Not to mention "Ancient Egypt spans a great deal of centuries, so even if some were some may not have been as well.

Some think that there are still sects from back in the day when Akhenaton got rids of the priests of Amun and they still have a rivalry going. I don't know so I won't make any guesses.

Actually it is a myth that ancient Egypt was built on the back of slaves. The pyramids were not built by slaves but a paid workforce. As for the myth of oppression, that is from Jewish sources in the old testament and that is a lie.

In fact there was no plagues of Egypt or parting of the red sea. Moses probably did not live during the time of Ramses the Great and Jews were not slaves in Egypt but may have been a criminal group of minorities who murdered and stole as they were run out of Egypt by the pharaoh after they had committed many crimes and angered the Egyptian population.

Jews no doubt would have made themselves look the victim of European oppressors if not for the fact that their crimes were recorded and their behavior in European countries well documented.
