You have to look at the full picture any state that provides tax incentives will create jobs in that state and North Carolina is has prospered to a 6.9 unemployment rate while states such as New York and California also show improvement but the dirty little secret is that people are leaving these areas in droves. The proof is that both New York and California the number of people on the welfare rolls exceeds the number of workers with jobs.

Jenkins stresses job creation in North Carolina

North Carolina improved from last year’s Forbes ranking of fifth.

Forbes joins nine other national organizations that have recently said that North Carolina has one of the best business climates in the country. Earlier this year, Ernst & Young said North Carolina has the lowest state and local tax burden on business.

During this year’s legislative session, Jenkins, owner-operator of W.S. Clark Farms, successfully worked to create and save jobs by enacting a refundable tax credit for 125,000 small businesses that employ 500,000 people.

North Carolina’s job-creation trend also exceeds the national average over the longer run. From June 2011 to December 2013, the state added about 184,000 new jobs, a growth rate about 13 percent above average.

The Number Of People On Welfare Exceeds The Number Of People With Jobs In 11 States

This list of states includes some of the biggest states in the country: California, New York, Illinois, Ohio, Maine, Kentucky, South Carolina, Mississippi, Alabama, New Mexico and Hawaii. It is interesting to note that seven of those states were won by Barack Obama on election night. In California, there are 139 "takers" for every 100 workers.
