of course, I dunno, I was thinking that a) light gets 'tired' over millennia or b) the vast electromagnetic flux starlight encounters between galaxies could 'red shift' it. Somehow...

Er, anyone? Have lab tests been done to see if EXTREME ELECTROMAGNETIC FLUX can redshift light? Cos, you know, there is a) a lot of this e-e-m flux out there in space and b) this might kinda be important, if redshift could be witnessed on light from a nearby lab light source.
