I'm a girl, and I agree with you to an extent. I keep my legs/pits/peach shaved because I do prefer being smooth, but as for the other "necessary" female bullshit traps like makeup, heels, and high fashion? Forget it. I wear durable, comfortable clothes that won't fall apart and boots because they last forever and protect my feet. I don't wear make-up because most of it is toxic. So, I don't look very girly most of the time (I'll dress up for a special occasion, but that's for other people's expectations only). I don't care much, though. I'm comfortable, frugal, and happy :)

Good for you OP. I am a man and I too have had the same thoughts I now dont shave or cut my hair. All my friend tell me how I look terrible like Tom Hanks in cast away. All the girls I once knew tell me how good looking my face is and how it is a shame to hide. I dont give a shit. Like Love me as I am. If you dont like buz off. My wild looks reflect my attitude to all standards in our modern society.

You obviously didn't read my post. I don't want to shave but I feel less attractive when I don't so I choose to shave despite the fact I know it's unnatural and foolish. I cannot seem to get past it and it's frustrating, so I was expressing that frustration. Also if you know anything about psychology I absolutely have society to blame.

OP, I did read your post. And I do know a whole lot about psychology. And I know Leftist ideology when I see it. And while you despise society, I despise Leftism. But that doesn't mean I despise you.

I'll try to be nicer. :) If you choose to shave, then you can't blame our society for your shaving. Nobody is forcing you. There are despicable societies in this world that force women to do unspeakable, vile things against their will. And nobody does a damn thing about it. You should probably spend a little more of your time despising those societies.

You seem to believe that a society shouldn't have any norms, standards, or general acceptances. Well, darling, that wouldn't be a society. And from what I see in our society these days, the norms, standards, and general acceptances have been SO relaxed, stretched out, and ignored that it defies reason (i.e., People of Walmart or Occupy Wall Street).

I am a woman, too, and there are hundreds of countries in the world that would lock us up (at best) for doing things we take for granted here.

If you really don't want to shave, then don't. But if you truly feel less attractive by not shaving (which is what you said), then STOP being ashamed of that and embrace the fact that most women want to look more attractive than men, as opposed to looking like a man. Women have been trying to look attractive throughout history, and why the hell not?
