Play the game with him. Explain your views on issues as you encounter them and ask him for his perspective. He'll be much easier to persuade towards 'rightness' as long as that rightness is true. After all, one day he will be on his own, making decisions that reflect how you taught him to approach things.

He doesn't see it as a satanic game that'll damn his soul, he sees the inclusion and comraderie amongst his friends who play it. Fellowship is a good thing. If you take the time to teach him the flawed ideologies while encouraging the fellowship the game brings, he'll probably end up sharing his (your) views with his friends.

Remember: if God is absolutely good, then all things work together for that good.

WHOA! I agree that we should CENSOR what our children read and watch - but you went APE on him - so now he knows you will never listen to his point of view on ANYTHING.

I had kids that played Star Trek competitively and then they wanted "Magic" cards. I said no - after looking at the images on some.

A few months later the oldest wanted to talk about it - and I said write out your argument. I still have that letter.

He explained that the cards were so popular that if he had some to trade he could prevent from being beat up on the playground because he was such a nerd.

We didn't have TV except for educational videos - NO CABLE and NO Videogames except for educational.

I bought some of the cards alone and had a look. I really didn't like the BLACK cards because they were the "spells" and demonic. So- I said noone could have them or trade for them but the rest would be OK.

It became the basis for "normal" american culture relationships at school - and any bullies knew they would not get traded the coveted "BLACK" cards or anything else if they hassled ANY of the three brothers. It PROTECTED them ALL.

They went to summer camps where the majority of kids had no TV (GIFTED CAMP) and learned about the wider world and had little interest in the silly games of the local kids - but made friends OK for activities.

ALL through college now and very well adjusted and they know how to relate to those that are different without INSULTING them as you did your son's friends.

Believe me -insulting a kids friends and going APE on him is not what a good parent does - try to see it from his point of view.

His WALL is up now and good luck getting him to trust you now with any details about his friends.

I am a Christian too. One day my son tried to play that Pokeyman game with me, and when I realized how stupid it was, I threw it off the table and took him out fishing. Haven't had a problem since.
