WTF There are gleaners groups too. I posted that earlier in the thread and I'm not sure where to direct people nationally because most of the groups are organized locally but you hook up with the group who then often pick the remenents of fields after the main harvest and you get to keep some.

WTF We are expecting a lil one here soon. Figured we would go look at WIC for a lil help through winter months. I am all about making my own baby food. Got a juicer, baby bullet blender and a frozen fruit ice cream maker. I started to look over the items we could and couldn't buy if we were approved. I was shocked when I saw no organics or, natural foods. So I guess the best option is not an option . Keep the poor on malnutrition diets?? Sad. I am not on wic, but the main store I shop at, has WIC approved signs on WIC approved foods and it looks pretty good to me. Quoting: Abinadi This is true right here. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 54442537 They do this here too.Have a little sign under the item saying WIC approved.Its under store brands of milk and juice and a lot of name brand foods too.It is actually one of the better programs out there because the foods you get are better for you.Peanut butter,cheese,juice,cereals,fruits and veggies are now included I believe.No junk food with WIC. ..Some states give an amount to spend at Farmers Markets also.
