Ok Lets say they do, I just don't think it be enough to cause this kind of a problem. Hanford seems like the most logical answer to me. You don't think it would be enough to cause this kind of problem? Are you serious? The Army did biological chemical spraying in Utah and bam...two-headed rabbits everywhere. Then why was it only rabbits? Rabbits reproduce at 100 X the rate of humans so no why defects in humans then? Rabbits are much smaller than humans, they eat right off the ground and cant rinse off any contaminates. Last Edited by Lady J USA on 02/17/2014 11:55 PM Lady J USA |

Increased rates of teratogenic effects reported all over Europe, with a dose dependent relationship found in a Bavarian study. In Europe there were also widespread increases in still birth, premature birth, low birth weight, Down's Syndrome, perinatal and neonatal deaths, and reduced birth rate. In Belarus, according to the Belarus National Genetic Monitoring Registry, there were post-Chernobyl increases in anencephaly, spina bifida, cleft lip, cleft palate, polydactyly, limb reduction, oesophageal atresia, anorectal atresia and multiple malformations. Many of the authors explicitly state that these phenomena are radiogenic. One, a researcher known for her caution, says only a third of congenital deformities of the face and jaw could be attributed to radiation. But it is a third, and those which are so attributed are said to be anomalously severe. |

Krispy71 User ID: 39765605 Netherlands 02/18/2014 07:48 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Please, inspite of getting pushy in any way, lets get real and realise that it is NEVER EVER 1 THING ALONE !!! Maybe those woman were related or married to men who work with DU, maybe those women worked closely with other chemicals, maybe it adds up big with Hanford, maybe a little part is comming from Fuku, and a big deal with Monsanto's Roundup. In 1962 farmers reported many of their animals were born with severe deformities and nightmarish effects to function that became increasingly a concern for the residents surrounding the nuclear plant as well as people who lived in regions bordering on Canada. 240,000 people live in the immediate areas surrounding Hanford. People talked about miscarriages, birth defects and rare diseases impacting children that increased following the development of the plant at Hanford. Initially folks took pride in the fact that Hanford had been chosen as the jewel in the crown of nuclear development, but that pride soon turned into great fear. As Spiegel reports, residents of the Tri-Cities of Pasco, Kennewick and Richland, ” are among the most highly radiated humans on earth.” 210 earthquakes happened in the Hanford area during 2010, the strongest measuring 3.0. But the fact that these earthquakes aren’t so severe is not reassuring to environmental scientists and others. “The leaking underground tanks and the contaminated groundwater moving toward the river mean a radioactive future for the river unless the mess can be cleaned up in time to avoid a serious radiological disaster,” says Glen Spain, a regional director for the Pacific Coast Federation of Fishermen’s Associations (PCFFA). [link to greenheritagenews.com] Then we have also oil and the fracking for oil and gas ... Fracking (hydro-fracturing) is the process of blasting shale with a mixture of water and chemicals to release energy. The blasting contributes to earthquakes, and only 30-50% of the fracking fluid is recovered; the remainder of the toxic chemical mixture is left in the ground, spreading to groundwater - and into people's drinking water. In Yakima are 5 companies related to oil-fracking [link to www.yellowpages.com] [link to www.yakimaregional.com] Groundwater and surface water samples taken near fracking operations in Colorado contained chemicals that can disrupt male and female hormones, researchers say. These chemicals, which are used in the fracking process, also were present in samples taken from the Colorado River, which serves as the drainage basin for the region, according to the study, which was published online Dec. 16 in the journal Endocrinology. "More than 700 chemicals are used in the fracking process, and many of them disturb hormone function," study co-author Susan Nagel, an assistant professor at the University of Missouri School of Medicine, said in a journal news release. "With fracking on the rise, populations may face greater health risks from increased endocrine-disrupting chemical exposure." Exposure to these chemicals can increase cancer risk and hamper reproduction by decreasing female fertility and the quality and quantity of sperm, the researchers said. Hydraulic fracturing, also called fracking, is a controversial process that involves pumping water, sand and chemicals deep underground at high pressure. The purpose is to crack open hydrocarbon-rich shale and extract natural gas. Previous studies have raised concerns that such drilling techniques could lead to contamination of drinking water. Its not only Monsanto-roundup or only radiation or only something else !!! ITS A MIX OF ALL THESE THINGS. xxxK |

This isn't to say Monsanto isn't the devil and roundup doesn't cause unbelievable problems, but the evidence is not with you for it being the sole cause in these cases. Sorry to burst your bubble. Sorry to burst yours, but hard data shows that indeed I did grow up in the path of fallout from Hanford's nuclear testing, and both the feds and the downwinders are using that very data in lawsuits by downwinders who are seeking damages. Hard data shows that residents of this area did experience the effects of the nuclear testing. Federal and state officials won’t say how many women in a three-county area near Yakima, Wash., have had babies with anencephaly, a heart-breaking condition in which they’re born missing parts of the brain or skull. And they admit they haven't interviewed any of the women in question, or told the mothers there's a potentially widespread problem. The evidence is that in fact Roundup is linked with that particular birth defect that the article mentions. Again, I am not talking about thyroid cancer, leukemia, or other cancers and birth defects associated with radiation. I absolutely understand which county Hanford is located in, I have lived in the tri-cities. I absolutely understand the dangers of Fuku fallout and Hanford leaking. But, the data about the birth defects 2010-2013 fits very well the introduction of "Roundup Ready" crops, widely planted in the Basin. This seeds allow even greater use of the weed killer. Did you know about Roundup Ready seed? If so, why have you not mentioned it? The evidence is not with you that Fuku or Hanford are the SOLE cause of the birth defects, which I have read posted here over and over and over. I am saying that you cannot discount the effects of Roundup, when it has been well documented, and well ignored by the likes of you. *********** Roundup is the ONE factor that has been linked to these birth defects that can be controlled in this scenario. Fuku radiation cannot be controlled. Hanford leakage cannot be controlled. Roundup can be banned, just like 2-4-D was banned, or at least the use can be restricted. That is physically possible tomorrow. And all you people are ignoring that. That is my point. *********** WaterLily *********** " Do I dare Disturb the universe?" -- T. S. Elliot, Love Song of J. There are 3 counties involved so far. Those are the 3 counties that constantly get the most Hanford radiation. The three are Yakima County, Benson County, and Franklin County. There are more apple trees in other parts of eastern Washington, such as Okanogan County, Douglas County, and Chelan County which also have NO incidents of this stuff. It isn't about apple orchards. Also, it is Mexicans farm workers who are out in the apple sprays every day, and they have more kids that white people here do by far. I haven't heard of it affecting them yet. The new, huge GMO corn research center is in Othello, WA is just north of there too, but that doesn't appear to be the major impact logically at this time from looking in at it.
