Maybe the op is right I can look one way at night and see certain conteslations and then look the other way and see DIFFERENT constellations. How's that possible if the earth is facing the same direction.

You need to throw your astronomy book in the rubbish. All the major moons are tidally locked. The Sun and Moon are similar apparent sizes to an observer but not identical. When the moon is furthest from the Earth, and the Earth closest to the Sun we get annular eclipses. When the opposite condition applies the Moon has a larger apparent size to the Sun.

If you dispute the fact that the Earth rotates then study fluids. The action of Earth's rotation affects the atmosphere and gives us the weather patterns we have. If there were no rotation then on heat convection would affect the atmosphere so the wind would go north, south and not towards the east as it does now.

Nothing in the universe is static. Everything is moving all the time. The Earth moves in a tiny area of the universe around a star that seemingly does not move. The stars don't seem to move because of vast distances. Everything we see is in a distance so vast it is beyond comprehension so we might think the Earth is not moving and everything else is.

How we observe things in motion is relative to where we are and the motion of that where we are. What we see standing still varies from what we see looking out a car window when the car is moving. Our brain organizes things and we judge distances relative to the information obtained from having two eyes. If we cover one eye then we lose the sensation of distance. Many people are hit by trains because there is an illusion of size and distance and how fast the train is moving. Most of us are very able to judge the speed of a car while crossing the street.

A child sees the Earth as flat. We cannot see how the Earth is round until we learn how we know the Earth is round; an expansion of reality. Most of us are not trained in complicated observation techniques. If you don't understand how the Earth revolves around the sun then take a course in astronomy or do some research yourself.

The solar system is tilted 63 degrees from the galactic plane. Meaning from the point of view of the galaxy, we are swing around the sun like someone swinging a bucket around in front of them.

The Milky Way travels 1,409,269 mph through empty space.
The Sun is moving at 492,126 mph through the Milky Way.
The Earth moves at 66486 mph around the sun

for a combined total speed of 1,967,881 mph.

Now how can we see the same stars every year if we are moving that fast, all them dumb scientist must be wrong, dammit.
