Plants are a self-replicating food source given to us by our loving Creator for our nourishment, medicine, recreation and sustainment. They are not "alive" in the Biblical sense. This is nonsense...sorry!  Animals are a self-replicating food source as well, and were given to us for food too, as stated by God Himself (multiple times) in the Holy Bible. Since you wanted to get biblical. Which is perfectly fine with me,as a believer myself. We are instructed repeatedly to tend to our flocks, mind our herds, treat our animals well, etc. (Proverbs 27:23, 12:10,Genesis 1:28, etc.) Can you show me a verse that says to treat plants with dignity because they have feelings and are alive?! The *life* of the flesh is in the *blood*! That's why animals were sacrificed, to atone for sin, before the Lamb of God was slain, that replaced and made perfect the payment for sin (sin requires death as the penalty). Plants don't have blood or life! Plants wither, they dry up, they are planted, harvested, they fall away, but they never die. Not once in Scripture! Am I going nuts? You people are telling me not to think bad thoughts toward a PLANT because I will hurt its feelings??! Goodnight all, wow... This must be common core curriculum (or soon will be)....
