I don't think anyone had worse social anxiety than me. And the great thing is I eventually got off the medicine and was still fine socially. I'm not one to push meds, but sometimes you have to. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 51021607 my sister has been pushing it on me for years. my problem now is that now its getting in the way of my studies and work so you might be right. I gotta get health insurance first, maybe a new job will do the trick |

That is the cause of it. so grab my balls and stop thinking so hard basically I guess. Basically live YOUR life. Stop being sucked into other peoples fear-based delusions. Once you do that, all the drama, all the fear, will fall away like week old, edible underwear. |

Instead of fearing possible consequences, accept them ahead of time as the worst that can happen. Then take some risks socially that will seem frightful at first, and see if it works out better or worse than you imagined it would. The only way to find out, is to take the leap, over and over if you have to, socially. Eventually the good will outweigh the bad. |

Even among family sometimes it was bad. Trust me, I know exactly what you are going through and it's horrible. The Paxil changed my life. I felt like I was free to be me. I wasn't afraid or worried any more and it felt so good just to be able to talk to people. I hope it works out for you. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 54999848 United States 03/01/2014 11:18 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | This is what I do. I was married for over 30 years and my wife died of cancer. I had a friend that kept insisting I needed to go out and do things. He finally convinced me to join a billiards team. So I have to play a lot of young people who are very good at billiards. It was very intimidating and instead of having fun I would get all stressed out, embarassed and humiliated getting my ass kicked every week. So I started taking Sam-e right before I went to play. It took all the stress away and I could "zone in" and focus on playing. Now I am having fun and win most of the time. No more stress. Sam-e is just a suppliment and natural to the body. It goes to the brain and helps the nuro transmitters between the brain cell communicate and relaxes you. . |
