Oh, btw, I use Bentonite regularly and I've found that the baths really can sap your energy in the beginning, don't make the water too hot if you do this. After a couple of times, it didn't make me tired anymore. Bentonite detoxes also. Foot baths are nice. Do not put into a septic tank. |

(I'm in Ca, it's springtime here now.) Quoting: Anonymous Coward 50179439 EDIT: From link below at end of post. More Vitamin D May Be Better? Recent science is showing that doses above these may provide better health. For example, professor Robert Heaney has reported in April 2006 in the Journal of Nutrition his study showing an additional 2600 IU/day of oral vitamin D3 should be given to older women. Vieth reported in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition a recommendation of 4000 IU per day for adults. He also showed that levels of 10,000 IU per day were normal from body exposure to the sun and the only published vitamin D toxicity was at levels exceeding 40,000 IU/day. It seems more studies are warranted on proper vitamin D doses. Given that vitamin D3 is safe at very high levels and may provide extraordinary benefits with no known risk, we recommend individuals get reasonable sun exposure, eat foods rich in vitamin D, and supplement with 5000IU Vitamin D3 in an oil based capsule. Follow up blood tests will then determine if any dosage adjustments are required. When you write about "3000 units," it's ACTUALLY 3000 milligrams (or 3 grams) of calcium, NOT vit D. 3000 IU of vit. D is toxic and eventually fatal! 800-1000iu is a good dose. Also all your commas in this sentence are not needed: "A spine surgeon, gave a talk about bone density, and injuries." [link to home.comcast.net] Quoting: Black Unit The chemical composition of Lugol's is: 5% (wt/v) - Iodine (I2) 10% (wt/v) - Potassium Iodide (KI) - (7.5 mgs Iodide & 2.5 mgs of Potassium) Distilled Water - 85% Drop dosages are based on a vertical dropper: % Solution # Drops Total mg Dosage 2% 1 2.5 mg 5 12.5 mg 10 25.0 mg 15 37.5 mg 20 50.0 mg 5% 1 6.25 mg 2 12.5 mg 4 25.0 mg 6 37.5 mg 8 50.0 mg 3. How much Iodine do I need to take? There are no amounts that can be given as a blanket recommendation. Everyone needs different amounts based on their body’s ability to utilize the nutrients as well as the level of toxic halide exposure they have each day. If you are dealing with a severe health condition then your dosages would need to be higher than those trying to maintain good health. a. Maintenance – It was once believed that a good maintenance dose is 25 mgs per day. But with more information being gained about the exposures to halides bombarding our systems (bromides, fluorides, chlorine) as well as mercury, etc., maintenance of health may require higher doses of iodine. The iodine doctors are now beginning to believe that 50 mgs may be the minimum required dose. My plan for feeling better fast. Help and advice appreciated!! I've worked up to 40k IU (about 40 mg) of Vitamin D3 daily along with 2.4 mg Vitamin K (both plant and animal). I take half after breakfast and half after lunch. Here are the noted benefits so far: - Less sensitivity to sun - Slower burning (I'm one of the "never tan, only burn skin type") - Longer lasting tans - Less irritation from actual burns - Improved mood - More regular bowel movements - Easier time falling/staying asleep (may be attributed to having a large glass of milk before bed) YMMV "Brawndo! If you're supplementing D3, take K with it. "Brawndo! It's got electrolytes!" |

My plan for feeling better fast. Help and advice appreciated!! Vitamin K helps keep calcium out of the blood supply and in to the bones. If you're supplementing D3, take K with it. Quoting: ErinTarn [link to www.betterbones.com] The Many Benefits of Vitamin K Vitamin K is essential for the proper formation and full activation of the Gla proteins. The Gla protein osteocalcin, when fully carboxylated by vitamin K, allows for the binding of calcium to the bone matrix. The Gla protein known as matrix-Gla protein is found in vascular smooth muscles. Matrix Gla protein is a key inhibitor of soft tissue calcification that binds calcium, preventing it from depositing in the vessel walls. Both Gla proteins are essential for proper calcium metabolism, and neither can be fully activated with adequate vitamin K. While you probably have enough vitamin K to provide for normal blood clotting, you most likely do not consume enough vitamin K to allow for optimum bone health. For example, studies document that for optimization of the bone protein osteocalcin adults would do well with a daily K1 intake of 1000 mcg. Currently the average K1 intake in this country is only 75 to 125 mcg. Good advice thanks.
