Laws need to be created to protect owners and their pet's against this egregious and unacceptable behavior from law enforcement. Unacceptable! |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 47319792 United States 03/07/2014 11:04 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | From the article (less than 50%) "They tried knocking on McGlone’s front door first but got no response, according to a sheriff’s office report. As one deputy, Jonathan Reed, knocked on a window at the rear of McGlone’s house, he saw her dog “charging” and “snarling with bared teeth,” with its head lowered, the report states. As Reed “retreated,” he saw that the dog was on a leash, he wrote in the report. “However, I saw that the leash was long enough to allow the dog to reach me before I could get away.” With no time to “yell at the dog or use a less lethal deterrent,” Reed wrote, “I instinctively drew my handgun and fired once, striking the dog in the top of the head.” I have no words for this blatant abuse of power and negligence on the part of the officer. If someone unbeknownst went knocking on my window, my dog would absolutely freak. That is what her job is - to warn me of situations like that. I have been lucky the 2 times in 7 years I have been pulled over (stop points) and my very large dog has "greeted" the officer by shoving her head through the window before I have a chance to let them know. Luckily she is very friendly to strangers when we are around, and just a big goof. But it is still a worry I have in this day and age of "shoot to kill first, ask questions later" And this is why I would never call the police to go to someones house, or come to mine. I would go to the station in person if I had a report to file. |

Wine is a beverage of the juice of fermented fruit (duh). Harassing the York County PD won't do anything. Nothing is going to bring the dog back. All I can do is remind people to rely on neighbors and community and avoid getting cops involved at all costs. I believe that's what I did do. Geez you're challenged. Be excellent to each other. |

It takes some stupid dog to realize that the minimum standards to become cops were there for a reason, and problems arise when those are removed so chicks and morally cowardly males can get in!! |

Lost Angel User ID: 1053878 United States 03/07/2014 11:42 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I am going to post a fact that is rarely heard or spoken of nowadays. I have had to deal with what were public servants do to tragedies in our family in the past and personal experience showed me and my family of the cold callous nature of so many law enforcement agencies, we have had a few good ones in fact GREAT ones, they know who they are because we let them know they are the GREAT ones, the rest of the usurpers like the ones in this article in this thread suck! Recently my 86 yr old elderly father was caught in the really bad snow storm of the south. 7 days without power, over the last year he was opposed to do the recommended prepping but with major nagging on my part and a ton of arguing he bought food, water and a generator. On a Thursday morning I spoke with him on his cell phone, we could not get to him as the roads were impassable and we live a long distance away he is in a very rural location and he is VERY independent. The last words he spoke to me were before his cell phone died, in a little boys voice were "trees are cracking everywhere and I wish I just had some heat", my heart broke but I thought he's got supplies and he's fairly set, but this little voice in my head kept telling me something bads going to happen, that night they then had a 5.4 earthquake that was it I could take no more. I called the local sheriff at 11:30pm that night, within 20minutes they went out to check him no questions asked, no hesitation, they called me 3 states away and said "mam your father is fine" he kinda laughed and said "in fact he's really something else" they proceeded to tell me his power came back on and his phones were charging, he'd be calling in a little bit. Well he chewed it up with those fine gentlemen of the sheriffs dept, my dad was carrying his 45 on his hip and was so grateful to them for coming out to check on him, plus it gave him time with the good ole boys and they were, some of the finest men I could have ever asked for, they even checked him over the weekend and called me, until they were certain he was set with contractors to remove trees from the house and road! So there are a few good men and women out there don't shoot them we need them! Last Edited by Lost Angel on 03/07/2014 11:45 AM I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life. Henry admitted he had a pistol in the bedroom. THE FUCKING COP ASKED HIM TO GO GET IT. Henry refused as he feared foul play. Same way I read it. Cop was a vigilante. Government is a body largely ungoverned. |
