Huckabee at CPAC: America must repent or else face the ‘fiery judgment’ of Sodom and Gomorrah....
WASHINGTON, D.C., March 7, 2014 (LifeSiteNews.com) – Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee called on America Friday to repent or else face the same "fiery judgment" God wrought on Sodom and Gomorrah.

Huckabee told the Conservative Political Action Conference, “A society that sacrifices its own children is no better than the ancient Philistines.” He said that “every person has intrinsic value,” noting that “none of us are disposable.”

In a talk focusing on God, family, and country, Huckabee said he wanted to talk about “things that I know.” The first was that “there is a God, and I know this nation would not exist had He not been the midwife of its birth.”

“I know that this nation exists by the providence of His hand, and that if this nation forgets our God, then God will have every right to forget us,” he said, reminding listeners that Ruth Graham Bell said, “If God does not bring fiery judgment upon America, then he will have to apologize to Sodom and Gomorrah.”

Huckabee said he hopes “that we repent before we ever have to receive His fiery judgment. But I know that He is, and I believe that a nation that can remember Him is a nation that will be remembered by Him.”

LOT ASKED THE TOWNSFOLK TO "NOT DO SO WICKEDLY"

THEY REPLIED "YOU CAME HERE TO SOJOURN AND YOU ALWAYS WANTS TO JUDGE"

SOUND FAMILIAR???

But before they lay down, the men of the city, even the men of Sodom, compassed the house round, both old and young, all the people from every quarter:

5 And they called unto Lot, and said unto him, "Where are the men which came in to thee this night? bring them out unto us, that we may know them".

6 And Lot went out at the door unto them, and shut the door after him, 7 And said, "I pray you, brethren, do not so wickedly...."

9 And they said, "Stand back". And they said again, "This one fellow came in to sojourn, and he wants to be a judge: now will we deal worse with thee, than with them".

And they pressed sore upon the man, even Lot, and came near to break the door.

Scary. God doesn't bring judgment on America or any place without warnings like this. The way Huckabee is ridiculed for this statement is exactly how prophets like Lot were treated. This isn't the first instance of prophetic warnings and calls to repentance for America on the nation's biggest stages. For example, the Congressman who quoted Isaiah 9 on the morning of September 12, 2001, not realizing that by committing America to rebuild stronger than ever before and not change anything, he was committing America to ignore it's call to repentance just as Israel did in Isaiah 9, the exact verse he was quoting. He did not realize that he was taking the verse completely out of context and setting America on a path for judgment. Then there's the house stenographer who took the podium on the house floor this past year and said things like "He will not be mocked," "You are all sons of the Devil," "This is not a nation under God," etc. So since 9/11, there have been prophetic warnings and calls to repentance for America in the Senate, Congress, and from the most Christian politician in the country. I'm sure I'm forgetting a few. O yeah, the sycamore that was knocked down by a beam a few blocks from ground zero, perfectly matching what happened to Israel in Isaiah. It was replaced by an oak during a ceremony, as in Isaiah 9, and the sycamore is now encased in bronze on Wall Street. The location where the sycamore was knocked down was also the exact location where the "cross of ground zero" (two connected beams found in the rubble that made a cross) stood post-9/11 before being moved to a museum because it was right in front of a Church. Also, the cornerstone for the new "Freedom Tower" was hewn stone, just as in Isaiah 9. O, and the Church where George Washington and the founding fathers went for hours immediately after Washington's inauguration stood exactly on ground zero. At the Church, the founding fathers committed America to be a nation of God, praying that the American people would never betray the ways of God, and accepting that if they ever did, the blessings that allowed this country to be founded and thrive would be gone.

So Christians, or people who believe a 2,000 year old book, are insane and have lost touch with reality? I'm guessing that's not an opinion you would share if not hidden anonymously behind the safety of a computer monitor. Respecting the beliefs and opinions of people who hold different ones than you is something you might want to try rather than just dismissing anyone who believes something different than you as insane. You'll be considered an intolerant, closed-minded bigot if you don't..

Just wondering, if a society in 2,000 years reads history books from today, will those be considered a fairytale simply because they are 2,000 years old? How does the age of a book discredit it? Is there a better way you can think of that people could have used to record events 2,000 years ago?

The events I mentioned are completely factual. There is no opinion in my comment, so calling me crazy only shows your ignorance. Whether or not you believe in God, everything I mentioned actually happened, period. The only part of my comment that might be construed as opinion is the comment that God doesn't judge without giving warnings first, but if you have read the Bible you know that this comment is also completely factual. God had prophets warn and call to repentance every place that he judges. The places that didn't listen to the prophets ridiculed them, called them insane, even tried to have them killed, continued in sin, and then were judged.

Doubling down on your crazy doesn't make you any less crazy. Proving a book by quoting that book is circular logic but then crazy people aren't usually very good at logic.

I happen to come from your world, I grew up in a family that believes all of that nonsense and I've actually read the Bible. The problem is there is no reason to think Satan didn't write the Bible because if the stories are true then the author is a psychopathic monster. I don't expect you have the courage to face that so good luck with your insane ramblings.

Kind of the response I expected. Just don't close your heart off. Believe things for a reason. I don't believe in God because of the family I was raised in or because I thought about it really hard or because I read the Bible. I believe in God because I believe I've seen his work in my life, the lives of those I know, and in creation. You haven't, and as the modern Christian theologian Peter Kreeft would say, a just God will not condemn you because of that.

If you ever have moments where you question your own sanity let me assure you that you have lost touch with reality a long time ago. Your first indication should have been when you found yourself talking to empty air and reading a two thousand year old book.

Proving a book by quoting that book certainly is circular logic. I'm just wondering how that is relevant to this thread in any way considering I never did that.

Re: Huckabee at CPAC: America must repent or else face the ‘fiery judgment’ of Sodom and Gomorrah....
"nations" don't repent

people do

let's don't get it twisted

it's an individual thing, regardless

Yes, and "Where two or more are gathered in my name, there am I in the midst!" Jesus Christ.

If we were to all get on our knees and repent as a unit, revival will come and restore our land.

This is the bubble I talk about and my prayer always!
Keep it simple and always give <3
