Because churches and religious organizations are classified by the IRS as charitable organizations 501(c)(3) they are under the governments thumb.
Quoting: Ya'ala 18776091  I call BS because it would violate the separation of church and state. Feds need to do their own dirty work and leave the clergy or religion out. I'd never thought I'd advocate an athiest group's position on something like this. Thats cool, you're entitled to your opinion even if it is a little naive. It sucks. A lot of good people are being deceived by these sold out pastors.
