If you're interested, and keep up on aviation, you'll know that todays jet engines are enormously cleaner than previous generations. Far less particulates, CO2...and more water vapor in the exhaust.
At the higher altitudes they're flying these days, conditions are often ripe for contrail formation...it's not "chemicals" being sprayed.
