The first car/truck you ever owned?

The start of your story was great, the second part about detoilet causes my eyes to tear up.

1972 Mustang Mach 1 Convertible

In 1980 I was 16 and begging for a car, found an add in the local paper, a sweet, little old lady was was selling it.

Original owner, about 2000 miles and I got it for $1500.00, she drove to store and church, it was a gorgeous car.

Couple years later it was stolen from in front of my house and used for a murder in Detroit....wish I still had it....

Ford put those Mach-1 stickers big and bright on the door panels to scare the shit out of anyone thinking they could get a free pink slip at the track. It worked even the ones in the junkyards still looking they are breaking the sound barrier. Not sure I would want the car back after al-capone got offed in it though?

Whewww! Other than that yes dam they knew what car to take if the intent was to off and run. The MACH-1 like the Plymouth Cuda where the first true 10 sec cars I tell ya.

It had a 351 Cleveland and sometimes if I was not being careful it would squeal when the light turned green....all my guy friends wanted it....lol

Agree. Some of the cars the peeps drive here are impressive some even worth thousands of dollars filled with memories and good times that not even a 2014 corvette can fill. Then again? a 2014 Corvette would just be nice forget what I just said about a vette not giving you good times.

Since you brought up Vettes, I have one of those now as my toy car it's a 92 Convertible 6 speed triple black. My everyday car is now a 2012 Honda Accord LOL

1979 brand spankn new plymouth horizon TC3.

I LOVEDthat car. Bright orange. I bought it myself at 19. Payments were 167.29 a month for 3 years.

Lots of good times in that car...

Sigh. The good old days...

2000 Accord Coupe 4 cyl. Got it in 2003 with 23k on it, now it is approaching 89k. The only problem I've had with it was the O2 sensor going out, which was kind of a bitch. Otherwise, still great, except I'm starting to get rattling noises from the interior plastic paneling sometimes. =P The smog check guy told me it runs cleaner than new cars, and that I must get regular oil changes. I do, & use STP fuel injection cleaner every few k (which I'm not sure really does anything, but still use anyway, just in case). I'll keep it 'til it dies.

1972 Chevy Monte Carlo, Pumpkin-Puke orange body, hardtop painted tan. Ugly and fast. Bought it in Newport News while in the Navy (for too much money, of course). Replaced almost everything except the body and engine.
