BRIEF User ID: 381742 United States 03/21/2014 03:36 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Still have it...looks the same after 22 years...I did have to buy a Jeep before Dad and I finished building it, wish I kept it, didn't think a '79 CJ-7 was a good family car with no backseat in it. I never forgive and I never forget I am a licensed firearm holder. I will, under protection of law, use lethal force if attacked. |

lightchild_uk Waiting for IT User ID: 54729431 United Kingdom 03/21/2014 03:44 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I parked it on a corner and someone hit it and caved in the back corner. So I purchased an Orange MK2 for £160 and swapped the interior over (Removed the dead pigeon from the boot too). After a few months the cylinder heat gasket went and I replaced t with a Mark 1 Astra. I love cars that I can pick up the engine and transfer case at the same time. Yea, thats the only thing I hated about the car....Clutch gave out...Had to pull engine/trans out as one, then take trans off, you can't just drop the trans, the bottom of the car is a solid enclosed plate. |

Quoting: iBYTE on 2 :see3: A 1976 Gold Duster with a grandma 225 slant six that I had in 1979. Looked like it would come off the line like a roaring beast...but was actually like a yapping Pomeranian. Great car and I wish I had it today. You could literally sit under the hood with the engine as there was so much room. A great car to learn on as everything was so accessible. Second was a Ranchero with a 308 that again...had so much room under the hood everything was easy to learn to work on. The good ole days I guess. |
