1994 Ford ranger, bought used in 1996, Used it to kill a deer back in 05 then sold it for parts lol
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 55828865

Hahaha Rangers were great trucks, miss mine. Never had a problem with 120k on it. Sold it to a friends towing company as a service truck it's still driving around with over 300k on it now.

Re: The first car/truck you ever owned?
1966 Chevelle ss, In 1976 I Bought it for $100 from a kid who had taken the 396 4 speed out of it and put it in a 1967 Chevelle. It was Mist Blue w/ black int. Found a 283 and a muncie and put it back together. Did some body work, and $150 Macco paint job and I was good to go. Drove it a couple of years through high school. After much abuse the 283 started smoking real bad so I took it out when friend of my brothers came by with a Dark Blue w/white int. 1969 Chevelle ss 396 4 speed, Traded me for the 66' Had my first of many big blocks. :) Two years ago I was making a trade for a 1971 Chevy truck, we started talking about cars we had owned and he said he had a 1966 Chevelle ss sitting in his back garage, when he opened the door I knew right away it was my old Chevelle, same dent in the hood, and the seat covers my mom had sewn for me. Of course it wasn't for sale, I hoping to buy it from his estate in a few years. :)

Cool thread, OP... 5*s and green thumbs...

Except I already gave you green thumbs this week so please accept these two clapping jacks as a token of my esteem.

 Quoting: R.P. McMurphy

Oh, yes - I forget to mention about my 78' Cutlas. At a certain point in it's life, before relegated to a bread and breakfast on the side of our house - it added a certain feature. This feature was brought about by the harsh New England winters and the salt that caused corrosion…

A literally hole formed in the rear, passengers foot flooring. It was about, oh, well, big enough to spare us one evening… (We had the floor mat over it - you just had to know when getting in not to put your feet through it!)

The local police pull us over. I was not drinking, BUT, the other passengers were.. so, in the seconds between sirens, lights and pull-over we discussed the plan…

Slip the brown bag with six-pack and empties, OUT of the HOLE in the FLOOR of the Cutlas when I stopped, but before the policeman came up to the care.

Well, it worked! Since I was clean and a quick scan of the car with the flashlight saw nothing illegal, we were free to go! But, wait, we could not "go" for then he might see the six-pack and empties… We waited and LUCKILY, he pulled out first and let us chill.

Boy oh boy, that secret hatch saved me on that night.

A 1979 Ford Granada, it was silver with a maroon vinyl top. It had a great a/c in it, but the carburetor needed some work. It would stick when it got cold and I'd have to pop the hood and stick a pen and open up the butterfly nut and recrank the car. But I'd love to have that old car again, just for the memories.

Still have it...looks the same after 22 years...I did have to buy a Jeep before Dad and I finished building it, wish I kept it, didn't think a '79 CJ-7 was a good family car with no backseat in it.

Exhibition acceleration? I managed to talk my way out of light up my tires and throwing rocks from the road all over a cop car...it was dark and he was riding my ass but I couldn't see it was a cop, so at a light I put it to the floor and smoke poured from the burning tires. Then I saw the lights and had to think quick...I apologized and told him we had just rebuilt the carb and the linkage was hanging...he asked if I could get it back home safely and I said yeah I'll be real careful and get it fixed tomorrow :)
